Is NRS going to develop a new character from SEA origins?
Hi guys, since I am fanatic MK fans from South East Asia region, I will be very happy if NRS Going to develop new characters based on South East Asian Origins, we can see that south East Asian country also has a very strong martial art culture like Thailand is where MUAY THAI Born, Indonesia is the place where SILAT was born.
There are also a very huge fan based here...
So what do you think guys?

I think NRS should focus on making characters that are relevant to the game and its story, and not put in a character just to please a certain group of fans.

I would very much like to see indonesian Philipino art and martial arts in MK, those are relevant to the oriental feel of the series. Perhaps some characters could be designed with that inmind instead of the bland GI Joe look some of them sport.

I want to see one if he/she serves an actual purpose in the game and not just to pander to a specific audience.

At first, I thought this thread was about creating an MK character similar to Aquaman.
My answer would been yes. Southeast Asians are cool too, though.

lol yup exactly what I was thinking too. Was kind of intrigued by the thought of having some kind of aquatic based character like Aquaman or Rikuo/Aulbath from Darkstalkers. Would be interesting to say the least especially from an MK standpoint.
However for the real intent behind this question it is something to consider. I mean really there aren't many Asian characters in fighting games that don't originate from China, Korea, Thailand, or Japan. Only character I can think of from the Philippines is Talim from SC. I'd generically approve depending on how interesting they make the potential character.
