Now after thinking awhile observing posts and some fellow mk fans thoughts, I began to think more about mkxs story

What if it could be like injustice? Hear me out on this theory that I've come up with. Superman had turnt evil or basically a dictator after losing Lois and everything he loved. What if this scenario becomes Liu kang? Yet Liu kang is an angered egotistical fire god he simply goes on a rampage after returning from the dead? He could go to the nether realm and become evil. Surprise both quan chi and shinnok killing them or forcing them to join his side. Next thing he plans his intentions to have revenge on Raiden but first causing destruction in outworld. I won't be surprised if many of out worlds characters get killed just like how the good characters were killed by sindel in mk9. Raiden observes the mayhem and knows he has to recruit for the war that'll begin. I believe some of the endings in mk9 will be part of mkx. Maybe Shang Tsung will come about? Maybe Liu kang will come and kill Raiden being a fire god and destroys anybody who gets in the way of his rule. It's a good shot at the possible main story of the game. I believe Liu kang will win but yet the 25 year into the future there will be a rebel force that would include a group of few heros and former villains that will go against his rule and try to overthrow him

Thoughts or any theories of your own?

While it's an interesting idea, I just can't see Liu kang willingly killing Outworld's inhabitants when those are the very same people he would need to recruit in order to successfully get back at Raiden. You can't take over a realm by yourself after all.

Agreed. Especially if it's Liu Kang.

We've seen him kinda kill innocent people before, however, it lasted one game. Despite that his undead has killed innocents in Deception, his soul knew that it was wrong for him to do such a thing, and it was all because an evil force reanimated his body. I doubt they would just suddenly turn him into a killing machine when that is absolutely not what Liu Kang is all about, even after being zapped to death by Raiden.

Yes true but also I believe they won't be as willing as they would for Shao Kahn seeing him as good, I could see someone like Baraka challenging his authority and Liu kang finishing him off and killing a few more to make example

Enough with Kang. He will not be in MKX and for the record, he was just an annoyance in the MK series.

Interesting theory, I could see it happening honestly.

Think about MKDA where the opening sequence was quan chi and shang tsung killing lui. That opening sequence changed the entire landscape of the game to come. There's no saying this cant happen again where in the opening scene of mkx before any of us play a single match the layout of things to come will be shown to us.. ie: lui coming back killing many of the characters that could possibly be in this game and making room for the new characters to file in.

I could see it now.. lui goes to nether realm as a fiery-man-god-beast surprises quan chi.. everyone watching will be like "oh hey quan is in this game" then lui kills him and we all are like "woa didnt see that coming" now wtf is gonna happen. And that scenerio could happen to -insert any character here-

It's honestly a very plausible theory. The only issue is that NRS literally just did that same story with Injustice. I really dont think they would do something that similar so soon.

But dont think NRS wouldn't do something like that with Liu. If they can make it work with Superman, THE boy scout, they can do it with Liu easily.

This time, though, he got killed by his comrade and not by the Deadly Alliance. That can really change a man's perspective, even if it is Mr. Goody Two-Shoes. He could easily pose as a big threat, being the Champion of the Elder Gods and all.

I saw Liu Kang die, he can return in a later part of MK, not MK X, then his death was for nothing and they could have better killed off other characters that didn't return in X.

3 things.

1. If you don't like Liu Kang, that's fine. But saying he won't be in is stupid because NONE of us know the roster. Don't present WHAT you WANT as fact.

2. He's never leaving the series, so you guys can drown that idea now.

3. It's not really confirmed he's dead. I mean yeah he looked pretty damn dead and the whole, "you have killed us all" would seem like he's dead. But with MK logic I don't believe shit until the follow up story. And even if he is dead the dude will be resurrected.

I hold the theory Liu Kang's not really dead, and he'll return as a heavily burned anti-hero. I always thought he may end up looking like Shishio from Rurouni Kenshin.

Great... now I keep imagining Liu's turkey noises with Shishio' voice...grin

To the point though, I don't think that they would have the same plot twice in a row.
