I think theres legit concern that Fujin probably wont be in... But theres still some hope.

My favorite god better be in this dang game make it happen NRS.

We'll definitely see him. If not in game DLC is a guarantee. There's no way NRS is going to leave him out with the MK4 timeline.

I think that's a bold conclusion. I mean, there's been nothing said that would suggest Fujin WOULDN'T be in the game. And until I hear something like that I think Fujin has a shot. If anything the Kung Lao has taught me one thing...

I'm going to be totally honest Kung Lao is the last character I expected to show up and be playable in mortal kombat x.

To the OP: you are CONVINCED (strong word) that Fujin is not in the game because of Kung Lao's inclusion? The two aren't even related.

There's still a few months left.

There's still a ton of characters who have a possibility of returning.

There's a heck of info that we still don't know yet.

I don't see the problem.

I guarantee we see Fujin, Tanya, Shinnok, Bo Rai Cho, and Havik.
The first 3 are all major to the MK4 story and were almost DLC in MK9. Bo is a character that is deeply invested in the story and lore. Havik is highly requested.

I also see possibility for Li Mei, Frost, Hotaru and Sareena appearing.

Revamped Reiko, Kai, Kira, Ashrah, Dairou, Shujinko, and Daegon are unlikely but not entirely ruled out.

I imagine seeing the following killed in the comics or game: Jarek, Hsu Hao, Drahmin, Nitara, Blaze, Darrius, and Kobra.

Thats not the only reason why. Half of the roster is already taken by new characters which leaves less room for returnees. Ed doesnt seem to care but so much about fujin and including kung lao lessened his chances even more and proves he isnt completely ready to hold off on the trilogy era for a while.

Well the thing is Fujin has a dive kick like Kung Lao's and a spin move similar to Kung Lao's, so there are some similarities there.

As a Fujin fan, I too am getting more and more worried. The other god is already back (Raiden), and now a character with some same/similar gameplay elements is also back (Kung Lao). With quite a few 'old' characters already back, quite a few more popular 'old' characters not yet back (like Kitana, Mileena, Reptile, Noob Saibot, Ermac, Smoke...) and supposedly there being a whole bunch of new characters, the chances of Fujin grabbing one of those spots in the roster are getting lower and lower...

On the other hand, I'm happy Kung Lao is back. He's always welcome in MK as far as I'm concerned. He's way too stylish to be left out.

My point exactly. But yeah im happy the great one is back. Hes my most played as character ever and one of my only few faves. I just hope his inclusion isnt over fujin :(.

Call me crazy but I honestly believe that the following characters are a lock for this game.

Something also tells me we might see Hotaru or Shujinko, as well.

I never really seen KL and Fujin as similar in terms of moves. The dive kick? Yeah. The Spin Move? No. KL's was a pop up and Fujin's was more of a throw. I will admit Fujin hasn't had a very original moveset though.

However, I think wind is so broad and unexplored that KL isn't endangering Fujin's chances of being in the game. There's SO much you can do with Fujin it's not even funny.

i was already worried when they said that HALF of the cast will be NEW characters. Nothing wrong with introducing new characters, but HALF cast!?! Thats was seriously not needed.

I'd like to see Fujin return, but not before Shinnok.

Actually, it is needed when they've admitted that they want to head into a new generation of Mortal Kombat.

Introducing brand new characters, a chunk of them, helps them head into that direction. I don't see a problem having half the roster be new characters. It's a good change that many should appreciate.

In a recent interview Boon didn't even seem sure MKX had more new characters than Deception which had 8.

Thats good to hear. I was already hoping that they were assumption. I think 8 is the right number.
