If the MK4/MKDA/MKD characters are DLC, is that good enough?

With the roster being pretty much all but confirmed, we know that the only 3D-era characters in the game are Kenshi, Shinnok, and Quan Chi. Now this has caused a lot of people to be upset at the lack of more 3D-era characters such as Fujin, Reiko, Havik, Tanya, etc. In a lot of different threads, users have called this roster "boring", "stale", and "safe" due to this matter.

Now my question is this:

Is it good enough for you that these characters be DLC? Would that satisfy those people that wished the roster had included more MK4/MKDA/MKD characters? Or is the fact that they weren't included in the beginning still upset people?

I just want to get people's thoughts on it, because a lot of people are bashing this roster, but we still don't know what other characters are going to be released for MKX. The Kombat Pack already has four fully developed characters, and this is right at launch. There is even a high probability that those four characters include at least one of the most requested characters, like Reiko or Fujin.

Didn't Ed or someone a while ago say DLC characters wont have alts?
I'd rather people like Tanya, Reiko or Fujin be in the main roster so we can have multiple costumes for them as we don't see them very often. I hope I'm mistaken.
I would take them being DLC though, better than not at all.

Would they be present in the story while their playable forms came later? Komplete Package including Brutalities, Fatalities, Lots of voicework between characters?

Well yeah I'd definitely buy it. But good enough? Not from a business perspective.

It wouldn't sell to expectation so there'd be no reason to make anymore past 2.

But Kitana, Kung Lao, Jax, Smoke, Liu Kang and Baraka would have sold more based on name and popularity.

..Idk...I guess I should apologize if me being unsatisfied by the roster offends you and deems me as not a "True fan" but..it's really underwhelming so far. Not as bad as Deception or 4 but...similar to MKvsDC I guess but replace those DC characters with SF/Descendants.

I still hope we're being led on a big Ruse Cruise by Boon and NRS as far as the roster is concerned,

I'm fine with some of them being DLC. In fact, I was expecting that from the get-go. What I don't like is cliffhanging on MK4 goodies, giving various and numerous teases since, then keeping pretty much all of them as DLC.

As I said, slap in the face.

Honestly I'm really surprised there hasn't been ANY kind of response from NRS about the leaks. Either denying or just releasing official renders of the Leaked characters. That way they control the situation.

The people who get their charcter will be happy, the ones who's favorites don't get dlc will still complain.

i dont buy this one for all, and all for one 3D character b.s.

If tanya gets in and Fujin doesnt, fujin fans will be angry and comlain

If Reiko gets in(please be in), and tanya fans dont, tanya fans will be angry and complain

vice versa and ect.

Sure, it would certainly help to inject some variety to the roster, and I love how the term "safe" and "expected" have now suddenly become an insult, bashing the roster, typical defensive response.

I find it unlikely though. DLC needs to ensure sales, that's why two characters from the kombat pack are guests, it is only logical the rest of the DLC will include highly requested, popular characters like Smoke, Jade or Noob. I doubt we will get more than one, if any at all. Their chances were higher as part of the main roster.

Lol, at this point....I'd take any of them. Fujin or Bo' Rai Cho are preference, but if Tanya or Reiko get the gold, I'd still be happy that all that hyping wasn't for nothing.

You are right... people wont be satisfied even of a post MK3 character was chosen.... I am an example of that.

Boon has been hinting Bo Rai Cho... If that POS makes it in over Fujin, Tanya, Reiko, Onaga, Blaze, Kai, Sareena, Havik etc... I will be pissed

Yeah I expect the MK2 Hidden characters to round out some of the DLC.

If we get Havik, Reiko, Ashrah, Bo Rai Cho, Li Mei, Hotaru, Darrius, Fujin, Kai etc it would be neat but I doubt it at this point. I think they'll want some classic heavy hitters for DLC.

I expect Jade/Smoke because I feel like since half of them have been revived already they'll wind up revied too, and they're a bit more popular than Stryker, Nightwolf, and Kabal. Only I think they'll be NPCs until the download packs start dropping in.

Either way I expect some of these characters to show up in the next game regardless if they're DLC or not.

No, because I don't feel right on the fact that the DLC characters that haven't touched the rebooted timeline gets shafted, while the dead comes back as playables. That's bullshit.

I feel like the dead should had been DLC packs. We already experienced them in the past game, give us some fresh blood on the spot (post-MK3), not make them an after thought.

"The Revenant" pack.
"Play as the warriors that fell before Sindel"
Includes new outfit and dead outfit.

Bam....


Yes, because their gameplay is going to be fucking awesome anyway and worth the money.

I'm not mad, so to speak but I just think that the 3D characters need another chance and if they're only DLC, I'd be a bit disappointed but if they gave us 8 3D characters, i guess i wouldn't mind.

You know what they say about the word "assume." I'm just sitting on my hands until we get a confirmed roster.

But if there aren't any 3D characters on the roster aside from Kenshi, I would be very surprised if there wasn't at least one as DLC. I've never been a big fan of those characters for the most part so I'm not upset, but I would like the people who were hoping for them to get the opportunity to play as them. I'd be buying it.
