i was toying with this idea that mk sm2 could be a great idea seeing as the first one was bad ass, my only idea to see this work if it follows the events of the ending of part one

.... i was hoping it would follow quan chi..... maybe even add shinok into the mix and make it a prequale to mk 4
You should have created this topic in Future MK Games. On topic, the Shaolin Monks sequel would probably follow Scorpion and Sub-Zero as originally planned in the time line of MK3 i.e. continue where we left, with a few story alterations most probably.

yawn @ sub/scorp. if they are going to make an actual shaolin monks part 2 featuring shaolin monks, i would love new monks. kai would be great, too. he sure deserves a fleshing out of his background if raiden had such faith in him during mk4. using liu and kung again would be a bit meh, as much as i like kung lao.

I would MUCH rather see an action-adventure game like MKSM following Kitana, Mileena and Jade as Outworld assassins. Other selectable characters could be Reptile, Baraka, Rain, Ermac and other characters who worked for Shao Kahn.

or maybe a history of scorpions clan and subbys induction into the lin kuei
im a sucker for orgin stories so imagine seeing the 2 most fan loved ninjas become who they are in the game.

I couldn't care less about Scorpion and his clan. So no, I wouldn't want to see that.
Unfortunately for you Jaded, and I'm sure you're aware of this, Jade, Kitana, and Mileena are lower tier characters in terms of overall popularity and general population awareness. This makes a game based around them pretty much a "never going to happen."
I'd buy that game, simply because I buy them all (still have my MK Special Forces) and believe there's definitely potential there for a cool game. However, when developing a game you have to appeal to the masses to justify all the costs involved in creating a game. To a casual gamer, who is generally male, is a game centered around "minor" (again insofar as the non-hardcore MK fan is concerned) female characters really all that appealing?
The game would have to epic in my opinion and then garner support and buzz by word of mouth. Shaolin Monks was a good game with "popular" well known characters, but I wouldn't call it "epic."

That I am aware of, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see it happen.
Chances are that the whole Scorpion/Subbie game will be made sometime in the future, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

If they made a part 2 it should def be a 4 player game and follow the events of the 3rd tournament. Liu kang, Kung lao, Jax, and Sonya would be the headliners in this game. As you find other characters through out the story, if they join you then u can select them. You should be able to unlock kitana, stryker, jade(they can come up with some reason why shes alive again.. she shouldnt of been killed off in the 1st damn place), Cage, and Nightwolf. Scorpion and Sub-zero can be bonus unlockables again like last time.

Shaolin Monks wasn't canon anyway, so I don't think it has any bearing on who comes back and doesn't. I would have very much preferred an MK3 version with almost every character playable.

Any game that lets you play as the heroes, not just monks or ninjas.
It should have a roster of at least 8 playable heroes, maybe some playable villains after completing the game or DLC, but should definitely give us options and not force us to pick one character or the other.
So no "Shaolin Monks" or "Fire and Ice" in the title, please. That's lame.

There's been other posts similar to this. Most people seem to be done with the monks. I'd say take up the Mythologies moniker again, but with gameplay like Shaolin Monks. I'd love to see a Reptile story from his days on Zaterra, to his servitude as an assasin, his de-evolution (including moves and fatalites becoming more primal. maybe even a rage meter), him being possessed by Onaga, and perhaps further with him finding his peoples' long lost matriarch, but leaving it kind of open-ended.
Of course there's always

I'd love to see that Fire and Ice game, with a few conditions:
Do NOT call it Fire and Ice. Corny.
Have it follow some aspect of their lives that we aren't already utterly familiar with. Perhaps a story where they ultimately double-team Quan Chi. lolz
Make it canon.

LOL best piece of conversation I've read in a long time
I like Jaded's take on the Edenian/Outworld girls. However, I kinda get this Charlie's Angels vibe from it. Shao Kahn is Charlie. But who is Bosley? Shang Tsung or Quan Chi?

Ever played Final Fantasy X-2?
That was a girl-power, Charlie's Angels inspired game.
Put in Kitana, Mileena and Jade as the main characters and make it alot more gory and dark, then that's a game I would enjoy. ;P

Very cool comparison. Now, I HAVE to see this game made!
