I don't care much whether any of this make it into the game or not, I like them, used all of them in MK9 (Cage was actually my main), but they are not my favourites. Now, in the event they are actually in, I wouldn't want them to be the next reveals. I Havik, or Kai, or Sareena, or Ashrah... one of the 3D era characters, but one of those that we knew had slim chances of being in, cause, lets face it, nobody will be surprised when Fujin or Tanya are announced.

I hate this mindset where if a predictable character is in they're considered "boring". Kano wasn't boring at all. Turned me into a believer. And Raiden sure as hell wasn't boring.

What made them boring? The predictability? Like no one has even seen Cage, Liu Kang, or Sonya gameplay and they're already considered boring. That's just stupid.

If they are in the game, fine by me. Anyway I'm still waiting for MK4-MKD characters...

At this point I'm desperate for anything. Ed Boon could reveal what he's gonna have for lunch today and I'd probably click it to see what it was.

And yeah I agree with this. Kano and Raiden looked awesome and fun as hell to play as. I don't mind if some people aren't excited though. Everybody has their favorites they would have rather seen and if they can't get over something petty like that and enjoy a rare glimpse at MKX thats their problem. Personally I think its fun to get into characters I use to overlook.

I think it goes back to the "coveted, limited returnee roster spots" argument.

Truth is, I'd say most would be happier with Reptile, Ermac & Mileena > Liu Kang, Cage and Sonya. That doesn't all suggest the former will be absent, but it does slim their chances. As well as the post MK4 characters, which, ya gotta admit, really is a bummer.

I have no doubts these 3 could impress me though. At least gameplay wise, if not story. But regardless of the circumstance, those 3 have always been on my "bottom" lists. Not necessarily because I don't like them or think they're "boring", but because the more..."supernatural-esque" characters have always intrigued me more so than the standard "humans/Earthrealmers".

But like I said, I'm open-minded at this point. I wouldn't even doubt that someone like Cassie or a revamped Kang could become one of my favorites. It's just something I won't know fersure until I shred into this game.

I agree with you. Raiden and Kano are getting a bad rap as being boring reveals. I have never liked either character and now I would love to play as both. The same will probably be said of Cage, Liu, and Sonya.

However, I think the "boring" tag gets placed on them because it is hard to envision their move sets being interesting. We all know what Sonya is.. and it is not much different from that of Cassie..

But Liu and Cage have me hopeful that they can be revamped. Cage can harness his seido abilities, and Liu has the whole revenge/angst against Raiden and the possibility of being undead. So for that reason I am looking forward to their reveals.

I could see Johnny getting the next reveal with him and Goro sharing a debut trailer.

At this point I'll be happy with any reveal that shows new gameplay and stages.

You got me with Kano, I thought he was slightly boring until I saw that trailer, they truly had re-worked him! But he definitely wasn't predictable at all. If anything I suspected he MIGHT make it in but I didn't expect him to be announced so early.

Raiden? Now he's boring. He's always been a dull son of a bitch and nothing about him in MKX excites me. His gameplay and effects are nifty but he hasn't impressed me. Sonya and Cage are characters that they very well can make awesome for MKX but I'd rather still see some other characters before them, because of that I don't give a fuck what's done with them- I don't care.

Liu I MIGHT be interested in if they go with that whole evil fire God theme.

I was amazed by both Raiden and Kano, they look amazing, and I am sure I am going to love what they do with most characters they reveal. I must say Kano was a surprise, nobody expected him, but he was still a returnee from the last game. I want them to reveal characters we haven't seen in a long time, and feel more surprised because of their slim chances. If the next reveal is Quan Chi, I won't feel surprised, I will watch the trailer one thousand times and be amazed by his moves and variations as I did with both Kano and Raiden, but as we all already know he is going to be in, there is an element of surprise/relieve that just wont be there, as would be the case with characters like Havik, Ashrah, Kai, or Sareena.

That's correct. The element of surprise is missing from this game so far when it comes to returning warriors. The only one that truly knocked me off my block was Goro, I mean sure his role in MK4 would suggest he'd return for this game but they seem to be traveling down a fresh path so far unique to the franchise and thus Goro could have easily been discarded, at least until the next game. But for him to return as a playable character is a surprise, but a pleasant one. Odds are however he's just a "sweet bonus" for Pre-Order only and won't have anything(or very little) to do when it comes to story.

I'm just really looking forward to the Cage/Blade family reveal. So excited! Years of fan fiction finally came to life.

Liu will be interesting for sure, just never been crazy about him after MK3.

Sonya is going to be such a badass. Can't wait to see her in her "Mom" role along side her "Militant self", it will be hilarious. And Johnny will hopefully get thrown into the whole "Seido" storyline.

Exactly. It all simply comes down to:

"They are not my favorites I prefer to have X over Z because that's my opinion"

I do understand why the people who say this say it. It's all about our personal favorites, and that's understandable.

That being said, their opinion still does not diminish or undervalue the importance or awesomeness of Sonya and Johnny as MK characters, at all. And it still doesn't make their special moves or gameplay "boring" or "Cassie-like/clones" like some like to repeat over and over and oooover again.

That's really gotten old already. Hearing that is what's actually boring. Bad excuses.
