I still find it quite weird that Fujin is featured in the whole first portion of story mode along with the main characters and yet probably won't be playable.

That statue in the living tower actually matches that brief screenshot we saw of Fujin, I think they have the same shoulder pads. But what kills it is that it has the same pose as Liu Kang's pose in one of the older games.
