Kenshi has never been affiliated with the White Lotus, he isn't even a shaolin (Samurai, which is japanese instead of chinese like shaolin, would be the closest and he isn't even that really) and he's 100% confirmed to be working with the special forces.

Takeda has nothing to do with the White Lotus, he is Shirai Ryu and apparently affiliated to SF.

Kano has his own team, he deals with team Kotal but he is a businessman, I don't think he cares at all for his war, except maybe that if Kotal loses his money outcome is cut, but he would backstab them for money the second he is given a better offer.

Ermac apparently is team Kotal, not "team evil sorcerers". Reptile is team Kotal too (one of his ministers, so really involved with his cause).

What was the point of that distribution anyway? I don't get the "for balance" part It just looks like you decided to randomly affiliate guys to different groups that have nothing in common with them for some reason that I can't see.

Why is Kenshi White Lotus when he has never interacted with them once

ITT people STILL don't get how factions work.

Besides, the only connection Kenshi has to them is being pissed off at Shang Tsung

What gets me confused here is that his divisions doesn't even seem to be related to the factions war (no Lin Kuei or Brotherhood or Black Dragon...) so I really don't know what he's really trying to balance even if the faction wars worked like that (and we know it doesn't).

I'm not talking about the factions, I don't even mention them. People complain about a balanced roster, so this for me would work . I don't care about being right or wrong with this, it's just my way of looking at things and it makes sense. Reptile could be under team Kotal as much as under team ninja or whatever.

With regards to White lotus, it clearly states affiliates and Kenshi has affiliations with Raiden. Just trying to make people feel better since this roster is very possible.

Well, if OP is using that logic to say Kenshi or Takeda (both of them never even remotely related to the white lotus) are White Lotus, then we HAVE to apply the same to every single hero in the game which works against his idea of balancing the roster... and again, I still don't get what kind of balance he's looking for or what's the purpose of this xD

...You do realize that when people are talking about "balance" in a fighting game, they are referring to actual gameplay mechanics and things like attack properties, right?

It's pretty easy, Kenshi is from earth realm and not Special Forces. Here's his connections with Raiden for all you crazy fans:

'Between the main events of the series, Kenshi is contacted by Raiden and agrees to fight for Earthrealm in the Mortal Kombat Tournament.

Several years later, Kenshi is summoned by Raiden to the island hosting the Mortal Kombat tournament, with Kenshi being the last to teleport onto the island.'

Thus, his connection to Raiden.

This list is for people to feel better about the roster. If you want to nitpick fine, put Kenshi and Takeda with Special Forces, Reptile with Kotal Kahn, Kano separate and you still have a somewhat balanced roster.

Team Lotus + Special Forces however you count is 10 good. Add Kitana and have you 11

Team Mileena + Team Evil = that's 8-9 evil + Kano is possibly 10

Team Kotal = 6 neutral + Scorpion, Sub-Zero + Liu Kang (if he's become indifferrent) makes 9

...........Please tell me you did not just use Mortal Kombat Legacy to justify Kenshi's affiliation to Raiden......

EVIL: Mileena, Kano, Goro, Baraka, Rain, Quan Chi, Shinnok, Ermac, Havik (Liu Kang)

NEUTRAL: Kotal Kahn, Dvorah, Ferra/Torr, Reptile, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Erron Black

Scorpion and Sub-Zero remain to be seen, as well as Liu Kang.

Seems pretty balanced to me, IF they add Baraka, Rain & Havik that is. Or else, it's still fucked!
