I wouldn't mind his inclusion.

But for god sakes his moves need a fucking theme. Cartwheel? Okay. Sideways rapid kicks? Fine. Shooting out lava? Wait what?

As a fan that I am of his, I really didn't care for his moves because I felt that they didn't fit him at all.

Last night one of the creators of Mortal Kombat posted a fake leak about Shinnok and saying that he looks good in MKX. His opponent in the photo was Hotaru by the way.

A guy in knight armor doing cartwheels and grasshopping is NOT ok. All the new characters in Deception has such random move sets...Remember Dairou's tombstone drop and feet fireball? What the hell?

Yep it probably is. Just somebody was trying to give us fans false hope of seeing Shinnok.

Like the characters that came from the Order and Chaos realms, they added nothing to the story. He is pretty much a foot solider similar to Baraka.

Hotaru in a nutshell -> I want order and I will side with anyone that provides it. Myself, I liked his design. Like most of the new characters in Deception, they weren't compelling enough for me to care about them.

I honestly hope he doesn't return , like all of the new characters in MK Deception. All the new characters in MKX are far better than any we've seen since John Tobias left. All the new characters in the Deadly Alliance to Armageddon era are best forgotten.

It felt like to me they were short on time so they just gave him some shitty generic moves. Which made him gameplay wise very stale. I wouldn't mind seeing him return though, I liked the whole Order vs Chaos stuff that was going on

I agree that most of the DA through Armageddon characters suck. But Li Mei, Bo Rai Cho, Frost, Havik, and Hotaru can still be saved. And maybe even Ashrah.

Frost is easily the most disposable of the bunch.

As for the topic, Dairou, as disliked as he is, has more potential than Hotaru for the plot of future MKs. Despite his minimal storyline, it at least allows him to not be tied down exclusively to Seido.

I have a much easier time buying that he can do acrobatic moves that just randomly shooting lava from his hands. But it is true that Deception movesets were complete trash.

Very much hoping for Ashrah's return at some point. I found her to be the most interesting new character in MKD, both in appearance and story.

His lava moves kinda seem sensible but they need to elaborate on it. Like I said Hotaru would work into the variation system perfectly. He has armor, the naginata, and lava.
