Thats the close quater fighting where the camera zooms in and triggers a qte imagine a sequece like the fights in heavy rain.
A mini game where you executed a devastating combo on your opponent then the camera pans out and the fight resumes.
It would have to be a very big upgrade over mk vs dc system for it to work. Where you see the impact of the blows and your opponent can counter you.

I only played MKvsDC for a few days, but close kombat wasn't working for me. I can see it being better and more substantial in the future, but as it was in MKvsDC, not my thing.

It could act as a kind of momentum shifter during fights to build up somekind of power meter.

You might change your minds about this when you see what god of war3 is capable of doing. .
Would make the game very cinematic.

Klose kombat should be kept in but with some improvements. Lose the guessing game and make it more like fight night's mechanic with the use of thumbsticks!!

no. this is a fighting game. maybe something like that for fatalities.

and then again it probably could work but the mk team does not translate ideas into 3d games good for some reason....idk. kqk iis so stiff....

Ugh, no way. It looked too much like rock em sock em robots. This "feature" along with the running through walls button mash minigame and the free fall kombat were three of the worst things about MK vs DC.

I actually thought that the fighting system itself in MK vs DC was the the best overall system that I've seen since MK2. But then they had to go and water it down with these stupid minigames or whatever.

It's a fighting game, it should have a fluidity to the, you know, FIGHTING... And yet it seemed like ever 7 or 8 seconds I was forced to stop strategizing, stop playing the actual freakin game in favor of either:

-Mashing buttons repeatedly while one character smashed another through a seemingly infinite number of walls (regardless of how unnatural it looked to see many of these characters do this).

-playing guess the button while falling at a ridiculously slow pace or

-playing guess the button while stuck in a part of the fighting where my character can apparently only perform 4 attacks.

Give me straight up fighting over any of that crap, any day of the week, month or year. It's not even close.

Wow... That was a bit emphatic... Sorry man! It's Monday and it's early lol.

The only good thing about mk vs dc was the jump and the uppercut that's it. This is the first mk game i ever stop playing after a month or 2. It was a very big disappointment for me. I've been playing mk since the first one came out and this is the worst one that i ever played. It upsets me when i start thinking about how terrible that game was. klose Kombat Hell NO

I didn't like close combat either. It was just too clunky. Just seemed a cheap way not to implement "proper" throws.

Well, I haven't played MKvsDC, but I've seen a lot of clips on YouTube and I can say that close kombat looks no fun to me, it ruins the fluidity of a fight. From what I've seen, it seems like most of the players don't like it either, hardly anyone uses it. Free-fall kombat is even worse, I absolutely hate it.

So yeah, I hope that both, close kombat and free-fall kombat do not return in the future games.
