Sure I love the Shining reference but he basically stole Shao Kahn's fatality! I hope he does something unexpected for the 2nd part of it. Recycled fatalities are no good! For instance, I hated Scorpion's MKD head rip that he blatantly stole from Sub Zero. >: owink

Wait, so if Shao Kahn is dead for good and never comes back, are you saying that no one else should ever have that fatality? I can understand you being bothered by Scorpion stealing SubZero's head rip, because that was his classic signature fatality.... But Shao Kahn did that in one game.... and Johnny improved it grin

I read somewhere that he doesn't actually rip him in half like Shao Kahn but after what we saw he just leaves him and the opponent falls on the ground and bleeds out.

Not sure if it's true or just completely made up though. I hope that's how it ends though, we don't see a lot of fatalities that lets your opponent die slowly.

I don't see Shao Kahn showing his face from the whole and saying "here is Shao!!".

Shao Kahn's one was from the front and he opened the whole opponent to make his way across them because he was so strong nothing could stand in his way.

Johnny's is from behind and he doesn't rip the whole body, only the whole to make the Jack Nicholson reference. The only thing that is similar is using the hands to open a whole in the torso, there are a lot of fatalities that look closer to each other than these.

This fatality sucks. Shao's MK9 was good. I mean Johnny splits the bodi so perfect! Like with a laser! Also ANOTHER SPLIT FATALITY like 10th so far.. This shit is wack!

I guess you are one of those people that will say Kitana's Shadow kick is not the same move as Jade's Shadow kick because there is no green shadow in Kitana's Shadow kick. Just because they did a few tweaks to the fatality, doesn't mean it's not the same one.

It's Shao Kahn's fatalities upgraded to be better and fit Johnny. Simple.

Exactly how I feel with Scorpion having the head rip. Especially how he holds it. Status quo is so overrated.

This is Cage's payback for being Shao Kahn's fatality dummy in the bonus challenge tower of PS Vita.

You got Caged.

Exactly how I felt when Kobra ripped out someone's heart and shoved it in their face. Even MK9 Kano's heart rips couldn't really top that, as awesome as the head-to-the-chest version was.

I'd love to see them remake Cage's "Triple Header" uppercut one of these times. Just spitballin' here, but imagine this: Johnny now has a variant where he creates Shadow stunt doubles, right? So what if he throws two stunt-double uppercuts, with each one knocking the opponent's head a little looser with a bright green flash, then Johnny himself finishes it by knocking the head clean off. Surprise twist, three heads fall down from the sky: one real one, and two Shadow-energy ones. Like the first two uppercuts knocked a piece of the opponent's soul right out of the body or something.

Shao Kahn is dead, and should stay dead forever, I'm glad that Johnny Cage has it.

Does it really matter?
1. It is/was a good fatality!
2. As Shao Kahn wasn't playable and so we couldn't perform his fatality, it's nice we are now able to. Fighting agains Shao Kahn in the Arcade ladder, he doesn't perform a fatality that often.

Well I guess I lucked out with this one.

I rarely to never lost to Shao Kahn, but when I did, he never performed that fatality. It was always the "Hammer Smash".

So the only time I ever really saw it was in the cinematic trailer.

So JC has my vote. Even it's just because of the Stanley Kubrick fan in me.

If all fatalities were original they would have ran out a very long time ago. It's been over 20 years, there's going to be some overlap. Plus it has enough of Johnny's personality in it to make it stand out.

Whoever said the laser precision cut on the spine is dumb, i agree. Same with reptile cracking a melon. I know there are limitations but that's one of the very few complaints I have. It's cheesy but not in a good way like the reference, add some jaggies lol.

If the rest of the game looked that bad we wouldn't notice it so much, it stands out. I still think cage's was pretty good though, I like it and the reference.
