Though I'm glad the writer of the article is excited, I'm not in the same boat. I'm excited to PLAY the game, but MKX has built itself in a way where a lot of the content isn't going to matter until I get my hands on it. I'm just not invested in the characters I've seen so far.

I'm certainly looking forward to release because I have full confidence that the game is going to be amazing, but until I see characters I'm invested in, there's no hype. Truthfully, the Goro reveal can't come soon enough.

That's not what he is saying. He's saying that yes, the media is hyping up the games, but we as fans hold as much of the responsibility as well. Pointing fingers at others and blaming them for the hype is -partially- wrong, as we are getting hyped because we want to get hyped, and thus setting ourselves up for disappointment.

Instead we should try to take a more realistic and unbiased look at what we are getting.

I'm with this one. The worst thing that could be done to MK is to go all out on it and close eyes on it's possible shortcomings from a technical standpoint.

Just because the last MK was near flawless from a technical standpioint and from MKO standards does not mean that we should be blind. Though I guess the dissonance and distance from the previous MK atmosphere is guaranteed that this game will be critically scrutiinized anyway.
