Ok I want hara kiris to return the normal way, but if they don't I prefer to watch hara kiri performed instead of someone's head just exploding when he rage quits. What do you think of quitalities ?

its not meant to be a finishing move per se just a fun way to stick it to the rage quitter

Quitailties give you a good 3 seconds of fun. Then you realise how stupid they are. Hara-Kiri as a rage quit move would be both awesome and a cool way to bring them back. Also, it does kind of make sense. Better then just their head falling off and the character says something.

They should have disgruntled-alities right now because your head would explode.

hara-kiri is an honorable way to lose a match without giving your opponent the satisfaction of killing you. A rage-quiter doesn't deserve that. I do, however, agree that hari-kiris should be back in the main game because they are awesome.

I was thinking about Hara-Kiris versus Quitalities today. In the end I figured I'd rather have things the way they are. Here's why:

Hara-Kiris are awesome and I've been wanting to see them back. And it would be a great reward for the remaining player if everything stopped and the quitter did a Hara-Kiri that killed them off in an awesome way. On the other hand -- it's pretty damn funny to watch someone get caught up in a deadly combo, and all of a sudden the victim just quits and their soul just kinda fucks off somewhere. It reminds me of this Simpsons clip where Homer's brain leaves his body and he just collapses on the ground. It's the perfect way to watch someone rage quit, really.

It's also a perfect trolling move. Imagine that your opponent is handing your ass to you and all of a sudden, right in the middle of a long juggle, their head just pops and their soul flies off with an unceremonious goodbye, as if to say, "Whatever, this shit's below me. I'm out." And you're just standing there caught completely by surprise, flabbergasted, because they were winning and then what just happened?

That, to me, would be freaking hilarious.

Besides all that, if they did bring back Hara-Kiris this way, then I would be disappointed that they're an online-only feature. I don't play online (heck, I don't play games enough to bother paying for the Plus account so I even can play online) so I'd never be able to see them. Quitalities are simple enough that offline players won't be missing much, and that's a good thing.

Now that I'm thinking about it though, it might be cool if they did Hara-Kiris in the main game, as a special move that lets you quit a match if you get down to Danger on the final round. That way you still cheat your opponent out of a Fatality, but you actually have to sacrifice your remaining lifebar to do it instead of trying for a comeback. Great for when you know you're royally screwed but want to go out in style.

I think Quitalities could have been better than just having a head explode.

Something more humiliating.

There should be something more humiliating, like the character crying, or a Babality.
This would send the message that a rage quitter is like a crybaby.

I agree, quitting should result in a Hara Kiri that's a little more elaborate than head popping off.

I'm so AGAINST hara-kiris, unless they make them super fast.. like the quitalities. For me personally, watching the same finishing moves over and over again is so boring and quickly becomes annoying. That's why I prefer private matches and I make arrangements with my friends: Let's not waste time with finishers.

What? Is that a real thing? (I have never done the online thing, because i can't. So i have no idea.)

I'd love to see a Hara-Kiri komeback. Do you propose mid-match HK? That would be freaking sweet. You could self-destruct at any point during the match (or after, before the opponent completes their fatality). The victory would still go to the opponent, and it would always be a gamble of 'should i stick it out and try to win, or just end the humiliation now?'

It would have to be a special button input that wouldn't normally happen, though. You don't want to pull off that shit unintentionally.
