I'm thinking Rain and Reiko still have a fighting chance of getting in. Other than that it seems legit. I'm kinda bummed about Cyrax/Sektor. I'd like them to be in the game and see how Sub-Zero takes them down and over the Lin Kuei. I also have a dream of Johnny going after Cyrax and being the one to try to restore his humanity as restitution for Cyrax sparing his life in the first tournament.

I agree, I hope Jax stays out of MKX. I like him but Jacqui really needs to take the spotlight, if he is in, he will overshadow her.

I would love that! Also, I have a feeling that characters that were top tier in MK9 got preferential treatment in deciding roster spots this time. Since NRS seems to be trying to paint Cyrax as an Earthrealm hero, he makes since given his popularity last game. I want Smoke as well but I feel like he might be in the Kombat pack. Not sure what he'd have to contribute to the plot this time around but he was top tier last game. He's also probably the most marketable character to leave out as a DLC selling-point. That being said, it seems odd that they'd give Sub-Zero one of the faction slots and not give him any other allies within it. I mean, Scorpion has Takeda but no faction. Kotal has more of a faction than anyone else and he doesn't get any representation in the faction wars.

Seems pretty accurate. That's a lot of SF/Earthrealm family characters for sure, tough luck for post-trilogy fans I guess.

Disagree, mainly just because of Sonya, Jax, and Johnny. Ed only specified that you'd be able to fight your parents/ancestors. He never said who. He could have easily been referring to Kung-Jin and Kung Lao. Cassie is both Johnny and Sonya rolled into one. It would be really stupid and repetitive to have them in the game when we already have Cassie Cage. Maybe one, but definitely not both.

So I disagree on that count, but the rest of the roster seems legit to me. Replace Sonya and Jax with Reiko and Rain and then I agree with the entirety of it.

I still think Rain is in. I don't think we were supposed to notice Erron at first. Rain has been teased more than he ever has been for a release. At this point, he is either in or Boon is just plain being mean to his fans. I mean, he's featured in the comic, where he seems to be killed. They could have have left it at that, but no. Shawn Kittelson even went out of his way to tweet that he was still alive. Then if you head over to Boon's twitter, you don't have to scroll far to see Rain's render from MKA posted enigmatically. Then just over a week later he's teased in this new trailer. If he's just a cameo, why, of all of the cutscenes in the game, would they show snippets of that one, especially after all of the hints? I mean, Boon likes to troll, but he's also a genius of marketing. I think he has a vested interest in not blatantly upsetting his fans. He might tease them, but it usually stops there. If this were a ruse, this trailer would be taking it a little too far. EDIT: I forgot to mention that Boon also recently tweeted "Erron Ermac Black" almost as if he were giving us a hint to look for Erron next to Ermac in the coming trailer. As it stands, I think both he and Rain, the "blink and you miss 'em" bros., are both in, but weren't meant to be the actual reveals. Shinnok and Mileena are featured front and center. I'd honestly laugh if Sindel was the 5th, mostly because no one expects it or wants it to happen.

That is a pretty lacklustre final roster if that were to be it. Not enough standout unique & exciting characters for me. Pretty boring. I'd have a LOT riding on good DLC if this were the case.

That would be a very lowsy roster and it won't happen what are like two thirds earths heroes and half of the roster are family???? You have to be fucking mad if you think that is the roster I would very surprised and very disappointed If this was the case but I have faith in nrs and this won't be the final roster

With the way ppl are reacting to the idea of a family picnic in the roster I dont think NRS will do it. They prolly thought of this and had the same reaction.It real lazy and not creative. I do think the "klassic kombatant" dlc could be jax, sonya, JC and the guest char..

I don't believe for a second this is the final roster. I think they're all in but there's just way too many things to suggest the roster is bigger than we're led on to believe.

But if it is just this that's a very disappointing roster. There's too many good guys, special forces descandents along with the people they've descended from and not enough outright villains and freaks. And I really doubt that Kotal's forces are evil at this point more neutral.

I agree about there being too many Special Forces characters. However, it's not necessarily all that uneven despite the roster being a little lackluster.

There are strictly speaking only 12 neutral/evil characters characters; Liu Kang probably, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Shinnok, Quan Chi, Kano, Erron, D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr, Kotal & Goro

Then 2 revenant characters who probably go from evil to good again; Kitana & Kung Lao

Finally, we have the 11 good guys; Scorpion, Sub, Raiden, Kenshi, Sonya, Johnny, Jax, Cassie, Takeda, Jacqui & Kung Jin.

I think guys like Fujin, Havik, Reiko, Tanya or Bo' still have a little chance, even though we didn't see them in the trailer (we didn't see Quan Chi either).

Oh, and Rain won't make it.

with that said, MK Special Forces 2 is looking pretty hot. I dunno, I know Sonya has a lot of fans, and I like Jax, but I can do without them in this game. Here's what I'd like:
