German magazin Man!ac preview MKX - little more infos

Hi guys, i buyed the Magazin and read it today. It was the only german Magazin who had a trip to Chicago to Play the game in the Netherrealm Studio. There are some tiny new Infos i found.

First the variations on Kung Lao:

Normal Special moves:
Hatthrow
Divekick
Whirlwind
Teleport

Tempest Variation:
Spining hat around his Body to protect him from projectiles and damage the Opponent.
Spinning move, but you can move Kung Lao Forward or backward.

Buzzsaw Variation:
down-up hatthrow (like the MK2011 Special move)
slow hatthrow (as seen in the Trailer) but he can also accelate the Speed of the hatthrow.
ground hatthrow

Hat trick Variation:
back Hatthrow, actually he teleport the hat behind the Opponent and you can by pressing a button call the hat back to you.

Man!ac mentioned that this is a strong move and it's the only move in the hat trick Variation they remember.

Oh, and the 100 fist to the head move from Kung Lao is a throw, NOT a brutality.

No word about the Story mode.....

.. but about the "living Towers". three Towers with challenges awaits us.

one Tower with 5 challenges changing every few hours. another Tower with 8 challenges changes daily and the last Tower with 15 challenges changes only on Special Events.

the modifications (or challenges are) for example: bombs raining from the sky, stages are imbalanced, demons Hands reaching at you out of the ground or!!!!! CYRAX assists you in the fight (they really wrote it here!). Funny was a Little gravity modification.... Juggle madness awaits you :)
Notice: Cyrax appears at the challenge, but this doesn't mean he is playable in MKX. But at least he is in the game at some sort.. :)

Some last words about the faction war. you can choose from 5 factions:
Lin Kuei (Picture of Sub Zero, blue banner)
White Lotus (Picture of Raiden, yellow greenish banner)
Brotherhood of Shadows (Picture of Quan Chi, purple banner)
Special Forces (Picture of Cassie Cage, green banner)
Black Dragon (Picture of Kano, red banner)

Oh.. you can Play as Sub Zero and earn experience Points for the White Lotus. This means you are Independent from the faction the character belongs to.

I hope some News were new for you Guys. I thought i posted it here.. to Keep the waiting for the game less harder :D

I like the living tower idea! Very cool and keeps it interesting :)

Imagine special events tower unlocks exclusive costumes for a time?

Thanks for the info. Not to bitch but, apart from the variations, it seems like all the returning characters only have their old normal move sets without any additional new ones...blah.

That's exactly what they planned, and Boon's said it before. The universal moves are supposed to be the more signature moves while the variations bring the new moves. Also demon hands from the ground... sounds like someone we know.

I'm actually a little disappointed with how small the Living Towers are. I was hoping for 10, 25 & 50
It would be awesome if the reward for the Special Tower would change say monthly

But they change hourly and daily. Does size really matter?

yeah the climb to 300 was fun and it fit mortal kombat. i like both ideas but i think they could have expanded on the 300 in a better way. i guess it makes more sense when you add in the clan scoring thing but it was a good offline single player mode is what im trying to say i guess.

Thanks for the info. The Living Towers sound fun and actually add a lot of replay value with how often they'll change.

I'm kind of not feeling the factions though. Specifically what they give you. I'm not really interested in any of them. I might pick Lin Kuei off color alone tbh.

It's good to see the returning characters being similar to how they were in the previous game since a problem with MK was how much the characters would change from game to game.

Living Towers sound Amazing!

Factions seem very Destiny-ish. Could be really cool depending on the rewards you get for earning your chosen factions points. If it's just menu changes as previous info suggests, then that's pretty meh...hopefully there's more to it.

I get what you are saying. As for the demon hand thing, I don't see who it could be. The only one that had hands coming from the ground is Shinnok and at that they are skeleton hands, not demon.

demon skeleton hands lol. scopion had that too but they gave him actual demons that assist in one of his mkx variations. im sure shinnok will have a similar attacks. kung lao probably has the best throw ive ever seen.

Oh man which faction am i gonna choose i cant decide. Lin Kuei sounds sick being an assassin an all, but Brother Hood of shadow sounds so metal though oh i just cant decide.

Actually I think the demon Hands aren't a hint for Shinnok or someone else. It's just a modification for the challenge. But I also hope that Shinnok makes the cut. What NRS could do with him... beyond Imagination ^.^

I know I can't decide either. It's between Black dragon and Brotherhood of Shadow for me.

I so can't wait for Shinnok! Right now he is 50/50 as to being playable or the main boss.

Cassie being the face of the special forces doesnt look good for jax or sonya being in the game . . . .also might go to sonya dying in the comic as kotal's ally
