The leaked roster just becomes more and more true by the second.

This was revealed a few days ago. He said the first chapter of storymode was available to play at the event and it featured a playable Johnny Cage. He mentioned that you see Kenshi, and that there is some form of interactivity in the story mode as well.

What's the leaked roster.. Frost and Khameloen?

He mentioned there were a "couple others" to try out at the event, but he couldn't name them yet due to not remembering who'd been revealed yet (or something along those lines). I hope we get some more info/footage out of this showcase.

I think it's funny that they're ripping this interview out of the Internet when they've made a press demo anyway.

Playable only in story mode or part of the selectable roster?

Seems very strange that the parents of the new characters will be playable along side each other... Johnny performing a fatality on his kid? Hm.

Sindel can preform fatalities on Kitana. It's not a big deal.

We've already had parents murdering their kids - even in story canon.

And best friends doing it. And lovers.

Fatalities are non-canon, as are any fights in arcade mode :P

I get the feeling Urbano wasn't supposed to drop this info, or that Netherrealm wasn't yet prepared to reveal Johnny.

I dont understand why they wouldnt be ready to reveal johnny. Like, did they expect it to be this huge reveal down the road that sent shockwaves through the community? The only shock to me is the fact him and sonya are in alongside cassie.

Really excited to see his game-play. I wonder will one of his variations focus on red energy instead of the usual green?

Because of the stupid visual aids that makes sense. I myself like how the red energy were the EX versions.

Agreed. But as you say because of the Variation visual differences I thought they might make one focus solely on powerful red energy that makes him a heavy hitter that loses some speed and give him a few unique powerful moves.

Any fights that don't happen in the story mode are non canon so it doesn't matter if they can perform fatalities on their kids/relatives or not lol

Not to mention we have been able to do this for a while with Sindel and Kitana, Kitana and Mileena, Bi-Han and Kuai Liang.

I was really happy to hear this, and I do take this as official confirmation, if nothing else just because it came from the senior producer of the game.

But if the Game Developers Conference ended days ago, why is the interview still barred from being shown? More importantly, why has there been no other reports from the conference at all? Even if they said recording wasn't allowed, I'm almost certain someone would have bootlegged some footage, or at least talked about what they saw somewhere on the web.

Maybe someone can clear this up for me, but I though he said they were going to let people see and play the game at the conference. Is there going to be another GDC in the near future that the interview was recorded for? Or were there only certain people allowed to see the game that had no reason to talk about it anywhere?

Stupid. Really stupid. I can't believe we have him, Cassie, AND Sonya in the game. Just stupid.

Story mode? Fine. I'll enjoy that. In the whole game as a roster spot? Stupid. I was fine with Cassie being a next-generation combination of Sonya and Johnny to still have their traits but in one character to where Sonya and Johnny could "retire" essentially, at least for now. But all 3 of them in the game???? For what???

I like the roster so far, and I for one am happy to see the Cage's all included.
