As long as it's a decent character, i'm okay with it. Like you said, it's how things are so there's no point in bitching about it. Bitching won't help. I just hope the Xbone doesn't get a better character because i'm going PS4 all day.

As Ed mentioned the rise and fall of Outworld rulers, with Mileena having a legitimate claim to the throne, it's as good as guaranteed she's going to at least make a cameo now if she's not part of the roster. Her fans can rejoice, methinks. Let's hope she doesn't just get killed off the bat.

As for exclusives? I'll go a step further since KI is a no-brainer. Calling it, this instant: FULGORE.

I'm a little bothered by guest characters, and from a company perspective, I am not too sure why they do it. Sure, you are going to have people that can't stand guest characters, and you are going to have people that respond positively. But what I have noticed over the years is that the people who respond negatively react far more strongly (I (*&(&*%ing HATE guest characters!!!) than the people that are ok with it, who seem to take a more "Hmm, that's pretty cool" approach. Not sure if the people who dislike guest characters actually outumber the people that are ok with them, but the reactions certainly are on a different level. Given that alone, if I were making decisions on who was in or out, I would stay clear of guest characters altogether. But that is just me.

Reptile: Pretty sure he will make it in. I would like to see him return as a non-playable, near impossible to find special fight who, when you DO find him, is a complete nightmare to fight and defeat. I am sure I am the minority on that though.

Story: Ugh....ok, I am not a fan of the whole jumping time periods thing. Moving along...FLASHBACK! Oh we get more story, let's see what happens now...no wait, FLASHBACK! I've only really seen this work in Memento, and ever since then, people have been trying to copy that. Many times, however, the story they are trying to tell just comes across as sloppy and disorganized (how I felt about Man of Steel). Hoping MK doesn't follow the same mistakes.

Praise the elder gods! It's finally 100% confirmed that there will be no time travel. Thanks to everyone who ganged up on me and thought time travel in MK isn't terrible. Really liking the sounds of this story mode.

Seems like flashbacks might be a way to squeeze in cameos without having to crowd the roster with returning characters since NRS is doing something completely different by focusing on new characters like they did in MK3-MKD.

Seems Kotal is maybe gathering allies from people that Shao Kahn wouldn't give the time of day to. I originally thought that Ferra/Torr would work for Kotal but now I don't know what to think.

I'm also wondering how Shinnok and Quan Chi fit into this with the rises and falls in power.

I think the story might mainly pick up a few years later, probably the five years later we've heard about rather than actually starting after MK9.

Since the story seems to revolve around Kotal Kahn and his rise and fall, where does leave Shinnok and Quan Chi? This is especially strange because the end of MK9 was forboding Shinnok invading.

Yeah I remembered that but I thought that maybe they just gave her that arbitrarily.

Console exclusive characters? *sigh*

Two more characters who will never see the light of a tournament.

They can reveal Rain all they like and that still won't change my opinion on these shitty console exclusives. If Rain makes it in, then cool, extra icing on the cake for me, but if he doesn't (which odds are he won't)- who cares? You win some, you lose some. Better luck next year, Never Give up, and all those other big slappy happy fucking clichés.

There's OTHER characters I'm pulling my hair out over such as Mileena, Ermac, Fujin. Tanya, Reptile ect. Characters who are VITAL for me to enjoy this game but chances who are even more so diminished thanks to console exclusive spot wasters.

I don't know why, but I feel extremely confident he'll be in. The possibilities with his fighting styles are just too good with this new three variation thing.

Recently a member of NRS was playing with a magic 8-ball on twitter and I jokingly asked him to ask the 8-ball if Reptile would be in MK X. He sent me back a picture with the 8-ball saying "Consult me later". I'm gonna take that as a hint that he'll be revealed later. I really REALLY hope so anyway.

I feel good about Reptile and Ermac making it in.

I'm also hoping for Fujin, Reiko, Havik, Kenshi , and Tanya.

I have to say that I'm intrigued at the premise of the story mode having a fair bit of focus on the rise and fall of Kotal Kahn's rule of Outworld. Hopefully, his overall presentation will truly make him a likeable and memorable character. I like that there are going to be different rulers or people trying to take over Outworld during these 25 years. It makes me wonder if Outworld's history will be further explored as the Outworld sub-plot unfolds.

The involvement of Shinnok and Quan Chi is definitely a mystery, and I'm sure we'll learn of that in the story mode. Personally, I would want Quan Chi to be killed off after leaving a bad taste in my mouth from MK 2011's story mode.

As for console-exclusive guest characters, I'm not really that surprised. I'm really just concerned about the core of the game with the gameplay, story, and characters.

I don't mind console exclusive guest characters as long as the console exclusive guest character for the Xbox is B. Orchid because I mean yeah.

He's all I need and I can take the rest in strides. As you mentioned, there's multiple ways he can be split into variations with his fighting skills. It's an easy win for NRS compared to others they're doing. They really don't have to stretch too far. Also, an article from June mentioned a "man-like reptile creature". He's packed it in on Boon's Twitter, he fits in this MK1 reunion debacle, AND he survived MK9.
