Or how about reverse fatalitys where you can counter an opponents fatality and kill them instead, you lost the fight but you were the who lived. Maybe have a move that acts as a one hit kill its very slow to pull off but if it connects it wipes the opponent out straight away.

Boring, dull, and defeats the whole '2D-esque' fighting the MK franchise has going. Plus, who'd want to see those dame action-figure lookin' models up close?

Whats the point of a counter-fatality? The winner should be the winner, not die and then proceed to fight again...unless they were a zombie. And the 1-hit kill (or almost kill) thing happens in fighting games way too much. Soul Calibur has them, Tekken has them, Street Fighter has them, the list goes on...
