I just installed my upgrades yesterday (8GB RAM, 2GB 256-bit GPU) and both Injustice and MK9 run smoothly on maxed out video settings.

I hope the same can be said when MKX rolls around this spring. I hope the company doesn't make the same stupid mistakes they did with MK9 and Injustice when creating the PC port.

I've heard for years that consoles generally have better online gameplay than PCs. I have no idea how MK9's and Injustice's PC online is since I haven't played them.

I do know that I, personally, don't want to play some other studio's port of MKX. I want to play the build that NRS is working on, so I'll be playing on consoles.

Also, yeah. PC delays would surprise no one.

What mistakes exactly did they make to cause that whole debacle?

The problem was the company was lazy in the port. And I'm not referring to it not being optimized for the PC. From the game's system requirements, it's considered "light" that would run on an average gaming PC. The problem with Injustice (more so than MK9, because that runs more smoothly for me) is that they didn't even bother making sure the engine is frame independent.

Unlike most PC games, Injustice doesn't skip frames with the CPU struggles to maintain a certain speed. Instead, its continuously trying to run at 60 fps resulting in slow motion instead of skipped frames.

I almost want to think NRS told the developers "OMFG GUYS IT HAS TO BE 60 FPS CUZ DAS WUT WE ADVERTISED" and they were stupid enough to leave it at that when porting over.

Personally, I think there is little to no excuse for this poor performance because both Injustice and MK9 were developed on the Unreal Engine, an engine originally designed for PC gaming!!!! The engine supports frame skipping for crying out loud.

Gee. I feel like a broken record.

I think it also has to be taken into acocunt, that after MK4 they probably did not keep up that much with the possibilities and utilities of a PC as consoles were all the rage back then.

Frankly I would not put it past them that they simply had no full idea on how to code for the PC.

Even MK4 was not properly coded, ther ewere bugs ahoy.

I haven't bought a console since the PS2 and Xbox, so it'll definitely be PC for me. As for specs, I'll get the best my budget (~$1300) will allow.

But sorry to those PC fans here, I can't get used to first-person shooters unless it's Doom. I have to go with consoles. Controllers just feel right.

First-person shooters on consoles (using controllers) make absolutely zero sense to me. With a mouse, you're pointing and shooting - essentially what a gun is supposed to do. Not saying it's impossible on a controller, I've played hours of Doom, Halo and House of the Dead on a controller, but even after countless hours it's never stopped feeling completely unintuitive.
