posted12/06/2014 11:10 PM (UTC)bysaiZeroI have a slew of questions for ya.
1. Whats your PC build (dont need a detailed spec list)?
2. Do you plan on upgrading ur hardware for MKX? If so, what?
3. Do you think MKX's sys. reqs. will match MKKE and/or Injustice?
4. Do you think they will fix the horrible slow-motion lag problems many ppl experienced in MKKE and Injustice?
My build (fairly recent, actually):
MOBO: ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition LGA 2011
Video: GeForce GTX 760 (2GB, 256-bit GDDR5, PCI-E 3.0)
CPU: Core i7-4930K Ivy Bridge -E (6-Core, 3.4GHz, 12MB L3 Cache)
RAM:16GB (4 x 4GB, DDR3 SDRAM)
b/c all i had to do was upgrade what i had already purchased, i saved money compared to buying a brand new stupid next gen console.

What I am afraid of is they'll F*** the PC gamers over and at the last minute before the game releases they'll say "Ohhh sorry the PC release will be delayed and we don't know when it'll be released, but it will be released"
I am really afraid that will happen.

I really fucking hope not
NRS are not developing the PC version from what I have seen in interviews and read in articles. It will probably be port over like with the generation 7 consoles and with Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for PC.

That's some serious hardware you got running there! I wish I had that kind of money like I used to.
Still, as you pointed out, my upgrades are half the cost of a console.
Current Build:
CPU: Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.66GHz LGA 1366
GPU: GeForce 9800 GTX+ Black Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3
RAM: 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM
Currently, I meet only the minimum requirements for MKKE/Injustice, but not the recommended (video card)
So I'm upgrading (on Black Friday, actually) to this:
CPU: (No need to upgrade)
GPU: Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5
RAM: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM
Question 3: There is absolutely no reason for the system requirements of MKX to match MKKE/Injustice. I expect next-gen quality, therefore I expect the system requirements to be higher (maybe not crazy high, but definitely higher than MKKE). I know it won't be spectacular graphics because it will (probably) be (almost) a straight port to PC. Since MKKE recommended a 1GB GPU, I am getting a 2GB one in anticipation for MKX. 8GB of RAM should be plenty.
Question 4: I don't know if the lag was specific to certain kinds of GPUs or people who only met minimum requirements. So I can't say much on that. But for a build like yours, you shouldn't experience any kind! I hope I don't or it's back to turning off the anti-aliasing.
Originally, I said I won't buy MKX for PC until they come out with some stupid KE like they did for MK(2011)... but I went against my best judgement and decided to support NRS's decision for releasing on PC by giving them my money, and then some for DLC. I've been bitching for a PC version since MKDA. I will bite bullet and dish out my cash so they will continue to make PC versions of MK. Oh, and to any of you potential piraters... FUCK YOU.
Obviously. What's the problem?
Did you read that as there is no PC version or what? Seriously, what's the issue with having it ported to PC? As long as it's ported correctly, who cares?

I'm very afraid about PC Ports, expecially with the Dark Souls one. I'll still get it on PC but....if it ends up being kinda shit I'll have to buy a PS4
I honestly woulda just gotten a PS4 if they didnt add the online fee.
I'm already paying for internet, i shouldnt have to pay for it twice just so I can play games on it.

You're twelve, go to bed.
Depends, the Komplete Edition has some horrible compatibility issues, I barely managed to get that one cracked and play it. Turned out it is somehow angry at my drivers no matter what I do.
This isn't their first attempt at this, MK-4 all had direct to PC versions, the first three were okay and were technically the best version of the game. MK4 had some reeeal programming lazyness to it.
Also, they could not do a really good job at compressing the videos (aside Westwood though, nobody could compress videos on that level), and the overall coding for the game was only around 25-35 Megabytes.
That is an insanely low count for a supposedly 3D game, and I suspect that was the cause why all (male/female/Goro) characters had the -basically- same proportions and physyique, only with a skins changed.
Anothe thing: keyboard imput block. There wasn't a problem unless you played with your friend on the same keyboard. Old keyboards had an imput limit of around 3 or 4 keys being pressed at the same time, so one player could essentially block the others imputs by holding down some stuff.
So, for example, Subs slide in mk4 if done with held buttons could very well disable the commands on Player two....
Two players require a controller for a fighting game. I prefer keyboards because I have spiders instead of hands.

Why do you assume you're speaking (disrespectfully) to a boy?
Why are you taking such offense to her opinion of consoles being stupid? Little miss sensitivity.

Wish I could buy a PS4 for that price.

Who cares what PC gamers say about consoles and vice versa? It's their opinion. Take your own advice and "stuff" eh?
I personally don't have a PC, my boyfriend does and it's a:
I5 Quad Core 24 gigs of ram, operating on 256 SSD
^I just copied what he told me
2. I'm sure it doesn't need upgrading
3. I'm sure it'll be the same, maybe a wee bit different from Injustice.
4. I'm also sure they'll be fixing lag issues.

Well, it comes down to preference, aside the technical capabilities. Those are not arguable.
I have been thinking about hooking up a keyboard to a console because I cannot fucking tolerate controllers.

I've tried PC gaming, still getting the hang of it. But sorry to those PC fans here, I can't get used to first-person shooters unless it's Doom. I have to go with consoles. Controllers just feel right.
But obviously, this thread isn't about that... Good day PC gamers!

Yes, but your hands are not trained spiders with 3,5 inch legs which curve.
Doom had some nice ports on consoles. Especially the soundtrack was improved.

A buddy of mine played some FPS games on a console with a keyboard and mouse. They immediately knew, because apparently he was "too good" and owning everyone. The trash talking was non-stop throughout the game. *sigh* console games are so touchy-feely. it's not hard to upset them. it's sad, really.

Props to your friend . Like I said before, I just can't get the hang of first-person shooters... However, I don't think PC is a terrible choice to play games. There's a bunch that I own that I thoroughly enjoy. But since I've always grown up around a console, that's more of a preferred choice for me.
I guess I'm an in-between-er? Eh?
But I'm not going to say, "PC gamers suck because consoles rule." I'm not like that, nor do I care if someone said, "consoles suck." It's an opinion nonetheless.
But there is a game I am looking forward to for the PC that is a first-person shooter, Overwatch. So, I guess I'll have a second chance with those genres for the PC.

Interesting. I grew up on both PC and Consoles. I've alwasy preferred platformers, beat 'em ups, and fighting games on consoles. FPS, RPG, and strategy have always been on PC.
Its because of MK4 that I want MK to stay on PC. The modding I did in MK4 and MK(2011) keeps the game's replay value up for me.
