Not sure if there has been a thread like this, if so my bad.

But one of the big themes with MKX is how many new things it has. New characters, new features, new stages, new gameplay mechanics, etc. But of all of this new stuff we've seen so far, what would you say is your favorite?

For me, it has to be the personal fight intros between everybody. Injustice had character interaction during matches and I always loved that. So I'm very happy NRS decided to take that from Injustice and apply it to MK in a fitting way. Plus seeing the same intro every single time gets annoying.

The character variations. It's gonna add more depth to the matchups, and it'll be a lot more fun to learn the characters.

The unexpected demise of old lady Blanche. It just broke my heart. Probably the most tragic death since Liu's last breath in MKDA.

Now seriously, they confirmed the game for PC. I'm hyped.

1080p, 60 fps... beautiful!

Not sure I like the variations yet. I saw Scorpion do something similar to Mileena's telekick in one of his variations, and it made me a bit skeptical about it. I love it as an idea but I hope they don't go overboard with borrowing other characters' moves.
I love everything else we have seen so far though. The stages look beautiful, the new characters look interesting and fun, the gameplay looks fast and smooth. The whole thing looks very promising.

I love that we're getting brand new characters. I originally imagined that they would just reintroduce some characters from the MK4-Armageddon games and leave it at that.

Favorite new thing so far, the serious tone of the game. The dark atmosphere, most fans have been asking for years. In fact this may be the darkest Mortal Kombat has ever been. Even the fonts where it says Fight, Finish Him, etc look creepy as hell. The new characters are the best newcomers we've had in a very long time.

Really like the new backgrounds. Love the snow forest, I like snow and forests in my games. The cove area is freaking sweet, feels like the water is going to overflow the arena and characters. The outworld marketplace looks great, so much detail.

The only thing I would probably change is the size of the libebar meters and make it slightly bigger. Also, when a character wins a round, there's a half circle indicator icon right under the stamina bar, and when you win both rounds it becomes a full circle. I'd probably put a skull there (half a skull for each round for when a character wins). A very minor detail but it will probably change.

The new fighting style selection at the character select screen is also one of my favorite new features in MKX.

We finally have a grappler style brute character in MK. I'm a huge fan of these types (Bane, Doomsday, Grundy, etc.) People have always complained that characters are always the same size and body type, well now here you go. Kotal Kahn is a freaking giant, probably as tall as Shao Kahn.

The character Variations. Sounds pretty damn good. And among the interesting new chars i'm high on D'Vorrah. Can't wait to try and master her art!

I am really liking the character variations, a new thing in fighting games as far as I know. I also have to mention that I am very pleased with the stamina bar that allows running and Interaction with stages.

This and this. Love watching Scorpion stride forward, very casual and like he just doesn't give a fuck. Simply awesome.

The dark tone of the game is also very welcome. It 'feels' like a revamped MK4, even if the story of MK4 might just be a footnote in the overall narrative. Just very dark, with this sense of gravity weighing down on you. Not like shit is about to hit the fan, but more like it already has, and the results have been less than kind to the realms.

Keep going NRS. I'm intrigued. glasses

I have to pick just one? D:

Well lets see..

-Character Variation is a feature I'm incredibly excited for
-The select screen is awesome, huge improvement from MK9s.
-Character specific intros? Are you fucking kidding? How awesome is that?!
-New characters is a great thing, a fresh of breath air. That 20 year old scent has finally left with MK9.
-The arenas look stellar, can't wait to see it in on my 56" LED.
-Next gen focused! Love that shit, 1080p 60fps!
-The new costume designs are the best I've ever seen, I can't wait to see more! (Reptile, please come back)
-Fatalities look better than ever, no more generic slicing and dicing. Ferra/Torr was a bit disappointing, however.
-MK9 gameplay, but updated with faster speed and intractables? HOLY SHIT
-Stamina bar and running? Fucking sweet
-25 years into the future with descendants of our old favorites? How awesome is that?

So if I had to pick one thing, my all time favorite feature of this gorgeous, awesome game.....

The variations. Finally something that's going to take time to practice with, as well as work hard to defend against. Glad I won't have to be fighting against the same old same old... I am also wondering how this is going to work with arcade mode and such. Would the AIs have a random variations chosen? I'm going to assume that's the case with AIs.

We also cannot forget about Lady Blanche. This woman, oh by golly gee wiz I'm going to have fun smashing people around with her! Muhahaha, fear the flying old lady! If I could (I don't have a car to take to the train station), I would go take the train down to Netherrealm Studios to personally shake the hand of whoever made this possible.

I still can't stop laughing at this.

Can we only choose one thing? Because I kinda like the overall changes so far.

Hmm... If I should choose one thing only though, it would be the pose after the fatalities. I love the camera angle, showing the remains of the opponent and up to the winner who stands there, posing, while the FATALITY text hovers over the corpse. When I first saw that, I loved it instantly. It's a really small thing, but it is just beautiful.

Dark tone, but it obviously has a sense of humor as seen in some fatalities and throwing an old lady at your opponent.

Gore Tech 3.0. Seriously, I'm dying to see the only two specials they haven't shown (in the current build).

The speed of gameplay and the abilities available for more kinetic fights. Really getting close to Kung fu film levels of imporov/choreographed action. Now we just need dynamic blocking. I don't see it happening though.

The scale of the arenas we've seen is incredible and I can't help thinkin of Killer Instinct with the Kove, which isn't a bad thing.

New characters are weirdos and I've been waiting for more weirdos since Havik was introduced.

Unique dialogue for different character match-ups (though I hope we see more creative entrances and victory poses).

Definitely, the character variations is the best new feature of the game.

It offers such a huge scheme of gameplay, increasing MKX's replay value substantially. The future is really why I love the feature so much. Character variations are quite small now compared to what it will be.

Tough to choose. The variations are far and away the most exciting prospect and are going to do the gameplay a world of good.

But personally, I have been asking for match-specific character dialogue since MKDA. That has me all giddy.

I like almost everything I've seen so far, except the stage interactions. But I'm most excited about the character variation, the intros and Kotal Kahn.
I also love the new look on fatalities and x-rays.

I like the new level of brutality (they're probably crossing the line this time lol) they're taking this game to. I like D'Vorah a lot and Ferra/Torr are pretty cool. That fatality of theirs is crazy!

I also like the fast paced gameplay and the new mechanic is pretty focused. I think it's great that you can maneuver around your opponent to get in and out of situations. That'll be fun to play around with.

The stages are pretty cool so far. Looking forward to seeing more.

It took a while, but after watching these gameplay videos over and over this game is growing on me and THAT'S my favorite part. Hopefully it's up from here on out.

I like the stages we have seen so far. Great detail! I'd really like a new version of the living forest smile . Also an updated version of the Eldergod arena from MK4 as well as the Lin Kuei temple.

The dark, gritty tone is fantastic!!

The return of X-ray moves in shocking delicious detail.

The fact that different outfits are significant to gameplay variation stances, rather than purely aesthetic.
