A trend I've noticed is that a lot of the fatalities result in decapitation. Like Raidens, D'Vorah's, Kung Jin's, Ermacs, Reptile's, and Kitana's.
I just wish they would be a little more creative. I love D'Vorah's fatality but I still see its just the removal of a head.
I kinda miss some of the more mythical elements in fatalities like Nightwolf's beam Fatality in MK3, or Shang Tsungs soul steal. In the more recent games it's all delimbing and beheading.
Anyone else feel this way?

Finally someone said it! THANK YOU OP! I too agree that what we've seen as fatalities in MKX remind me of the month of December. Cassie Cage's Christmas Tree fatality being the biggest offender. C'mon NRS there's a ton of other perfectly good months you could include! This is bullshit, I'm not buying the game unless they fix this.

Yeah I miss the magical fatalities a lot. I think NRS is more concerned with showing off how detailed their body models are rather than focusing on innovative fatality ideas. For the most part, at least.

Yeah fingers crossed for some more magical/power based fatalities. I absolutely loved Scorpion's fatality where he stabs you in the neck, wraps his kunai chain around the neck, and kicks them through the portal removing their skin lol

Ha. Another 'I'm not buying the game unless...'
Have fun not playing it while the whole world enjoys it because you don't like a handful of fatalities.
I would think it obvious but....you have to be a magical / supernatural based character to have magical / supernatural fatalities. The ones that are...do. A lot of the older fatalities were tongue in cheek slapstick level ridiculous and the tone of the series has moved away from that.
I don't see where the OP is coming from at all.
All I can say is that your forum name is very appropriately chosen. Psssssss, look at what the original title of the thread subject header was.

I guess NRS have to reveal what they think are the most ~shocking finishers to the public first. Hence, the orgy of decapitations.
But yeah, this has been an ongoing problem since MKII. They tried, I think, to remedy that in MK3 but the creativity went swirling down the toilet as a result.

Where I'm coming from isn't difficult to see. I don't necessarily want slapstick level ridiculousness. But I mean, if every Fatality is splitting people into pieces it gets a little boring.
I mean, even somethings like Scorpions toasty or fatalities associated with fire. Even like freeze and shatter for Sub Zero. Instead Sub Zero kinda rips you apart with his hands like a lot of characters. (I understand spine rip was his first fatality but still)

Jesus Christ I'm not being a pessimist. I'm just saying what I've noticed. Plus I felt the same way about MK9 other than a select few fatalities. It seems to be headed the same direction.
That's how I feel and it seems at least a couple of people agree a little bit.
Plus this doesn't change how excited I am for this game. Or any other future entries. Just a slight annoyance.
