Faction Wars werent done that well imo...

I understand that the most popular faction has the easiest chance to win, but it seems ridiculous to me that it's a sheer numbers game. I think that the scores should be weighted by the popularity so that the factions that have the most actual participation win over the factions that just have a lot of members. I.E., if a faction has the most members but it's people that all only earn like 50 points, I think it shouldn't matter as much as the faction that has the least amount of players but scores more 1000 pointers.

Yeah, I have to agree that the Faction War thing didn't really end up being all that cool. Even taking the balance issues out of the equation the mode is still not substantial. Nothing really makes me feel like I'm a part of a faction or taking place in any kind of war outside of the Faction Kills and an occasional text box that reminds me I'm a part of the BoS.

It was poorly planned and a number of these concerns particularly around the imbalance of members for each faction, were raised initially when the feature was announced.

I wish the Team Battles worked more like they do in Tekken. Would've made it a better experience compared to just facing one person or round robin. Also would have made me more interested in the faction thing overall.

I'm not exactly sure on how the faction war works, but I do agree that there could have been factors added to create more balance. I'm not that excited about the factions anymore, but I'm hoping it changes after a few weeks when the Lin Kueis get bored and switch factions.

I seriously don't even know what went through their minds when they made this. Regardless of what factions you put in the game, there will ALWAYS be be one that is more popular than the others. And that one will ALWAYS win. Being purely based on popularity is a hilariously bad concept. Unless there will be events or something that help the losers out.

We'll never even et to see the fifth faction kill for anything other than Lin Kuei, they're going to have to change up how it works.

in reality, they should have known everyone was just going to join the Lin Kuei faction only. If something like this was gonna happen, they should have made it two factions (with the other one being the Shirai Ryu). The Subzero/Scorpion circle jerk will overrule anything and everything in MK, they should have known that.

The online in this game is trash as a whole. The faction wars thing is just another waste of effort that could have put into the netcode.

I got 5,000 koins that's it as far as I know? Also I believe the winning faction get access to a 5th faction kill.

Thanks. I'll switch faction for the trophies, but the extra content is better and the cash is handy for the krypt.
Guess I'll go LK next for the ease.
They need to sort this as I do complete tasks for faction elevation. Some sort of weighing system.
But if you've got thousands of LK against 2 SF, what yer gonna do?

I'm sure NRS anticipated something like this I don't think they were completely oblivious to the idea that one faction might be more popular than the others.

Other games have done something similar and in the end they just provide incentives for users to join other factions such as bonus xp or extra koins.

I'm sure they have something up their sleeve. If they were caught off guard by this result then shame on NRS.

They should have put a cap on the most popular faction.

But I imagine after everyone power-levels to 50 in all the factions, the populations will level-out.

If you look at all the kombat kard stuff, Lin Kuei is the only faction that gets special unlocks simply for helping the Lin Kuei win a faction war.

its funny the only reason I picked LK is because it was the very first faction listed. My plan was to switch once I got level 50 and then win with the faction to see the last kill but for those who don't know you get a 10 percent koin bonus so I'll probably stay LK until I unlock everything in the krypt.

Yeah, as a White Lotus I have to say I am completely outnumbered 10 to 1 by Lin Kuei. I can only imagine the frustration from the other factions.

In fact, I spent my morning hunting down Lin Kuei online right before my coffee.

I've had the game since release (it was downloaded on my console) and I STILL don't know what Faction to pick. Since I'm a Reptile fan I'm confused as to which one to pick. I hear the Lin Keui is winning, but I don't think that means much to me. What do I get if I join a Faction that wins? Which Faction would Reptile be in? Also, which Faction has the best Faction Kills? I'd like to get in on this Faction business (I mostly play Ranked unless a friend comes over)

Bonuses for winning factions -

*10% Koin Bonus
*5-6 Icons/Borders
*5,000 Koins
*Final Faction Kill Input

These are the main ones I noticed. Might have also gotten some profile/faction experience.

Lin Kuei's lead is dwindling, and will most likely continue to do so in the coming weeks. Give it some time. Play the hell outta that War Tower, lol.
I thought the faction war would reset each week and people would have to chose a new faction. The way it's going about is weird, but I don't really care all that much. I'm with the White Lotus right now and I'm fine with staying here for now.

I think there are two main issues with it. One, you loose everything once you change your faction. Why? There's no need for me to loose every unlock and XP I've worked so fucking hard for.

Second, no other faction is on par with the Lin Kuei. This was pretty obvious when factions were announced. They should have added (and still need to add) factions like the Shirai Ryu and some Edenian clan.

To be honest the rewards are trash anyway.

Player badges which do the same stuff like other ones and terrible Faction Kills.

Since i maxed out all Faction i just switch if i want a different menu background.

The rewards i can care less. I predicted the from the beginning this Faction Wars stuff gonna be bad.

One Faction wins always and the rewards arent even worth to put effort in it.

So. I've completed Black Dragon faction and have a nice card which will give me extra koins for the krypt, so I'm not throwing that away just yet.
However, it has unlocked the 4th faction kill. Will this be lost if I defect? Even though the code is known, will it still work? Is the only way to get a fully functioning faction kill menu to complete all 5 factions (Gold trophy)?
I doubt it but it Isn't clear.
