Did I miss this in the faction wars intro video?

http://n4g.com/news/1668568/mortal-kombat-x-single-player-is-the-new-multiplayer

According to this article faction wars isn't limited to one platform. Meaning ps4 xb one and pc will all be contributing to their respective faction as a whole. It may not be mind bending to every one but I for one am impressed. It'll be the first game of its kind that I know of. Even though it's more or less a passive form of multiplayer. IF this is truly the case kudos to NRS on this feat.

Blew my mind when I first read it too! Amazing technical feat.

It's going to make it harder to win with so many consoles adding to the war. Fun times ahead!

The most recent Resident Evil games have a cross-platform and cross-game points and rewards system. Similarly, it's more or less passive... your records from the games get uploaded to a connected website... compiled and stacked up against other players, and you earn points for feats and events, which you can then spend on digital rewards both on the website and in the games.

It currently works with Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil Revelations, and the HD remake of Resident Evil 1, across the several platforms they're available on.

This MK system actually sounds very similar. I assume to make it work, we'll need to register and link an account on a connected website, that uploads and tracks our data cross platform.

The WB Batman games, actually also have a similar account link feature... that allows you to unlock stuff in the console games by playing/linking the mobile games. Since WB is the same parent company as MK, it wouldn't surprise me if this is similar to both the Batman system and the Resident Evil one.

The problem with the WBID theory for how the faction wars work is that there was no WBID linkage option for Injustice outside of the US. The rest of the world couldn't link between the console and mobile game, which was bullshit. So unless NRS is planning on arbitrarily locking most of the planet out of the online features, I'm not sure that's how they'll do it

^ True story. Hopefully, NRS have had enough time to come up with something a little more sophisticated. Excluding that many users is crazy.

I don't know man, this is kool to some extent, but is it really hard to make all the consoles and the PCs compatible online and everyone plays against everyone ? Can't they do that just with MK ? I don't think is really hard and shit... Why not fuse ALL and EVERYONE ?? Why don't you create something like battle.net ? WHY?

That'd be awesome but i'd still like to see which faction won the war on each console and overall

They've said it's going to be linked to the WBID. They've probably found a way to fix that issue that Injustice had.
