for the next mortal kombat game (Mortal Kombat II - ps3, xbox360), they've got to bring in an Endurance Mode option!...

i'm not just talking about 1 player vs 1 player using multiple characters...
but the possibility of having 1-4 players locally and up to 1-8 players online!!...

how sick would that be?!.. would be a lot better for multiplayer gaming than the current tag team mode, which is more likely suitable for 1 player vs 1 player (though it's a start, i guess u could say)...

so i'll try to explain here how the endurance mode would work out...

say you've got 4 people over your house playing (locally for this example)...

you could have a 1v3, 2v2, or 4vAI (computer opponents, ladder / tower matches, bringing in some co op to the mix)

so say you decide on playing a 2v2 game, just like how endurance mode originally functions - match 1 would start out, say player 1 vs player 3...
that when that match is over, for match 2, it would be player 2 vs player 4

and since it's a 2v2 match, it would be a best of 2 rounds (3 or more if necessary) to declare who the winning team is...
this same rule would apply for 3v3 (best of 3 matches) or 4v4 (best of 4 matches) having different players start on each new match correspondingly...

so, why so many rounds do u ask?... well that is simple, it's completely necessary so all players have the chance to participate in the match, because say you were playing a 3v3 match online, and player 1 on the opposing team played like an mk god with the usual best of 2 rounds rule applying...

that player might go through defeating the whole entire opposing team for both rounds straight not even allowing his teammates (buddies) the chance to even play, that is why it's necessary to have different players start out each round as many rounds as there is players per side.. also would make for longer matches with more interesting outcomes... and of course only the 2 players fighting can communicate amongst each other if they choose so, while the idle observing teammates can communicate with one another etc...

the possibilities with this game mode would rock, you could even start mk clans if you wanted, and would bring in a larger multiplayer gaming community... which would kick a**!

let me know what u guys think

They have a similar option in a few other gamrs kniw as team ladder, but your idea is pretty interesting.

The title was confusing at first because of endurance mode in unchained and i think the wii armageddon, where you fight waves of enemies. I dont think thats the right name for it, because your not really enduring if you have a whole team to back you. But still, its a good idea.

I think it would be a good idea!

@Nouns
Maybe it could be named Team Kombat or something similar?

This is a good idea!!! I think maybe having multi-player endurance matches would be an aspect to change up the dynamic of the game specifically if it was in Vs. Mode or Tag-Team Mode.

i feel that you guys are pretty much right on the money as to understanding what i'm suggesting here... used the endurance title instead of team kombat as to not get people confused with tag team kombat (which is a big difference by my book)... and i understand how endurance matches do work in most fighters (loved endurance mode in soul calibur), fighting through waves and waves of opponents... would actually be a nice touch if they incorporated that as a gameplay mode option as well...

but for those of you who stumble onto this thread and have never played mk4's arcade 2 on 2 matches before, this is no different than how an endurance match works in mk1 or how the team modes 2v2 or 3v3 work in mk trilogy... though i think i prefer how in mk1 & mkt the dead players bodies remain on the ground till the match is over with, instead of how the fighters explode like they do in mk4 (but would except either way or possibly a new way for dead bodies to vanish)...

the best part about this would be being able to play on a team with your friends! not just you by yourself controlling multiple characters vs another solo opponent (which should also be an included option, of course)... but it's just not as exciting as having real multiple players on your team...

also note, i'm not suggesting any tag team (tagging) for this gameplay mode... as that would / should be an entirely separated gameplay mode
