essentially Midway doesn't have the necessary equipment or livepower to make FMV's. The intros for DA and D were made outside of Midway as I recall. Besides, if they are anything like the shitty MK4 endings (both directing and the awfull, outdated surface blending) than I prefer the two pics rather than one painfull animation.
A good idea would be semi animations like in Icewind Dale, when the stillshots were moved to some extent and in the background the sounds signified what was happening.
Another factor: Midway is a small company. Let's say the next MK has 35 characters. 35 FMV's are a terribly large amount to do, and pretty much too costly for Midway.

What they should do with endings is use in-game graphics. It doesn't exactly need to be FMV stuff to look good. In game graphics are fine by me for the endings.
I don't really mind the picture and text endings all too much, but I would like to see more pictures in the endings and more text information in there to make them more wholesome.

In my opinion, the idea of FMV endings sounds better than it really is.
Judging from Deception's Konquest and Shaolin Monks, character interaction and dialogue does not seem to be the MK team's strongest suit.
So I wouldn't mind much if they just stuck with the pic/text format.
However, I think they should start making them longer than just two pics and a paragraph.

In game grapics (now there's someone who understands) I dont mind if it is in-game graphics because MK7 graphics are going to be great anyway

Well, I think the important thing is the actual endings themselves, namely what goes on and not so much how its presented whether it be FMV, in game or just text and pics.

FMVs are really common in video games. Games have had less time to be produced and less money and have made many cutscenes. The N64 version of MK4 had cutscenes as opposed to FMvs if my memory serves me. I would like that if FMVs aren't possible. But I feel that the two pic, one paragraph endings really need to go.

I'm certainly not the first to say it... FMV clips with narration, ala the opening sequences. Or, alternatively, semi-animated stills.

I think the FMV clips are a lot better, the pictures are to oshort and it doesnt feel as good when you see peeople fighting
For example when Sub Zero is Fighting the Tarkata in his ending.
Heres another point, seperate begginings for all the players would be great too. This could be first put on trial as pictures with narration not FMV's
What cha think?
