This is way old news, dude. Like last summer old. The whole Scorpion/Sub-Zero fire & ice thing has been known for a long time.

MKO even has a news update about it.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but this is OLD news. The Game Informer article is new, but we've known about the game for quite some time.
My guess is, Boon's twitter post is a way of letting us know the game is FAR from dead, and may even have been revived. I'll be glad for fans of the dreadfully-attired duo if this is the case, but, personally, I'll pass: I loved Shaolin Monks, but playing as Scorpion for numerous hours...? Meh, I'd like a range of emotions, please, not a one-dimensional character for a co-lead. Scorpion ANGRY! ARRRRRRRGH!
Disclaimer: most Mortal Kombatants are one-dimensional, thus, this shows the author's dislike of Scorpion, rather than serving as a fair critique of said character. However, he does seem to have anger issues. ARRRRGH!

That sucks. Shaolin Monks was my favorite two-player beat-em-up since the Final Fight/Streets of Rage days. Would have loved to see a follow-up.
