This is the best news that we could have hoped for. Focusing on the next-gen version is exactly what they should be doing. Holding nothing back and having the hardware to bring their vision to fruition is music to my ears. The PS3 and Xbox360 versions will be just fine, so all you complainers out there (FROID), don't get your panties in a bunch. At least you'll still be able to play the game on last gen.

I don't have any new-gen consoles yet because I have a huge back log of games still to complete for PS3 and 360, but I'm glad to know that when I do upgrade to a PS4 in late 2015 I'll have a superb new-gen MK to sink my teeth in to.

The current gen consoles are clearly going to be better. I understand it's for last gen, but current gen looks to be sounding way better right about now.

I was on the fence but now it's decided. Xbox One here I come! What with patches and updates, if NRS are solely working on current gen then that might get kinda funky. I don't want to be playing online with different buffs/nerfs than NRS version.

The new story information get my hopes up that we'll still see some old characters (namely Sonya and Johnny Cage). I used to think that the X meant that there would be a cross between the MK9 and MK Armageddon timeline, but now I'm thinking there could be a cross between the post-MK9 era and thr 25-years-later era.

I noticed that Cassie Cage has a "Hollywood" style and a "Spec Ops" style. If nothing else I'd like to have A Johnny Cage with moves from the Hollywood moves and a Sonya with the Spec Ops moves, like alternative skins if they don't want to make full-blown characters for them.

Cassie Cage looks cool. I'm still sad we never got an outfit like this for Sonya though.

Oh thank the Elder Gods, they're putting all their time and resources into CURRENT gen consoles... It would be stupid and wasteful for them to work on a game for 10 year old hardware.

They're taking the same route as Respawn, letting someone else work on last gen while they make the best game they can on the new consoles. This is the best news to hear at this point.

I'm glad some of the silhouettes are phony, I hope the Ninja Turtle is Reptile, he's one of my favorite characters and I haven't even thought about him because of all this new content we're getting. This is turning out to be one of the best MKs ever. I hope it delivers come 2015.

So there might be some hints for the silhouettes even though they're fakes...well here's hoping the Neo silhouette hints at Kenshi's inclusion. He's one of the returners I'm hoping for.

I had decided way before the first trailer reveal that I would get a PS4 when a new MK was announced for it. Well, here I am, and all the more reason to do so.

Are people really complaining about them focusing on next gen? The goal of anybody should be to put out the best product possible and what better way to do that than with the best consoles possible? You have to understand that this game is a LONG ways away and if you don't have a new console yet you can take the time to save up for one. The whole theme of the game is "NEXT" as in "next generation" anyway. The argument of "Oh, I shouldn't have to buy a whole new console for one game" is stupid because there will be OTHER GAMES out for the consoles that you can get. It's not Ed Boon and NRS' fault that you don't have a PS4 or an XB1 yet. I do and I am far from financially comfortable and yet it hasn't turned me homeless. So just get with the times and get a new console because the old ones are going out of style quick.

As one of those "over privileged crybaby graphics whores", I take particular offense to this. I spent my own hard earned money on a ps4, and I don't want the new MK to be held back by tech that will be over 10 years old by the time the game comes out.

On a lighter note, it's always great to see Jeff and Ed in interviews. They're so natural together. Loved their mk9 interview where Ed interviewed Jeff.

I mean that's cute for you but it's not everyone's reality. I'm sure almost everyone will eventually get new consoles but people do what they can and gaming machines are expensive. I mean it's good that they're working on creating the best experience they can but I'D imagine that they want as many people as possible to experience what they've done. Like you said the game is a year away or so away but anything can happen financially to hinder the process of updating your tech.

Can't we all just be happy that NRS is pulling out all the stops to make this the best Next gen Mortal Kombat title yet and that those who can't or won't be able to afford to upgrade won't be entirely left out in the cold?

I was concerned when I read that it would be multi-generational, but the fact that they're going to start with the newest gen and work their way down as opposed to vice versa gives me a huge sigh of relief. Especially having owned a PS4 for less than a month now

Well, that settles it then. Mortal Kombat X will be the reason I get a PS4.

I'm very psyched about what I have seen so far.

About the "going to the past" I have the feeling we will have the first part of the story mode (aka, tutorial) with Cassie being trained by their parents (probably the old models with enhanced textures), then they will start telling the story of what happened right after MK9. Cage and Sonya were story modes chapter 1 and 2 in MK9 so it makes sense their daughter gets to start the next story.

Maybe even visit some character's origins, with for example Scorpion using his ninjutsu style with less netherealm only powers (the only one he will keep in that style is the teleport and you could say it's a ninja trick or something) and his adventures while he was alive (we know very little about that) and he probably will meet some of the new characters on some Shirai Ryu mission so we get to see the origins of some of the new fellas too. Maybe on his own journey to get the amulet, before he is killed, he faces some of the gods or he discovers Kotal Kahn.

Ed deffo seems more relaxed talking to Jeff.
