I'd be alright with that. Although part of me still hopes he'll have a Crossbow variation. God, just imagine how amazing Fujin or Bo could be utilizing that staff like so -

Absolutely love that staff "ricochet". Fujin could easily make ALL kinds of shit like that happen with his wind abilities. He'd certainly give Takeda a run for his money in the reach arena.

It's really a bummer that they didn't do a staff variation for Raiden. I feel like his staff is way too iconic to his character to leave out. Hopefully he at least carries it around in the story mode.

I'm still quite pleased with Raiden's variations. I was just shocked that they didn't make use of it. It certainly added to that wisdom/mentor aura he had going on.

But I digress...getting a little off-topic here. >.<

There are lot of factors that are adding up and contribute to the idea they'll absent in this game, most already mentioned in this thread (variations, modifiers, leaked roster, lack of presence/info in the comic and the game), the guest just adds to this theory. Partly our fault for assuming MK3 reps were a given.

I hate throwing the word "confirmed" around... But a lot of the story leaks have basically said by the time we catch up with Subzero, later in the game after he's no longer undead, that he has already dealt with and killed Sektor?

T-Rex, I was referring to Takeda's Plasma Blades. I know Sektor had the Pulse Blades. I was just saying that Takeda uses Plasma Blades not Pulse Blades. I should've been more specific.

Who cares about Sektor and Cyrax. We have the Predator for goodness sakes.

Just going to chime in and say they are Plasma blades not Pulse blades. I know they are used the same way but they aren't Pulse blades.

Raiden has something like what I was thinking of with his displacer variation, he can teleport all over the screen.

Yeah, because it makes sense for a God of Thunder to be able to do that.

Sektor I'm not sure about. He always struck me as more of a heavy-weapon model, anyway.

come up

That's what I'm saying - why bother racking your brain trying to "come up" with something where there's already a variation right there, practically begging to be used?

It's also worth noting that he had the pulse blade as far back as MKGold and even MK:TE on the GBA. I completely forgot about that.

While they could work, I really don't think Takeda having them deconfirms him by any means.

Hey, you know what?

I hope I'm wrong about this, and he's actually playable. I need the epic "taking back the Lin Kuei" showdown between him and Subs. They owe us at least this much after not showing us a goddamn thing about the Cyber Initiative in MK9.

For sure. Honestly i'm a fan of the pulse blades and they are indeed different from Taquito's, so they definitely should be a variation. I'm not saying I don't want them to be, but if they wanted to they could make 3 variations without them. Also I COMPLETELY forgot Cyrax/Sektor had the blades in MKG. I need to play that pile of shit soon.

I hope you're wrong too, but I'm expecting just to see him in a few QTE's, or at the very least an NPC. Wouldn't be surprised to see him featured in Sub's arcade ladder ending either.

Fuck that would be so tight. I really wanted to see his crossbow too, but it seems a bit unlikely at this point.

I would have liked to see Raiden use his staff in a variation as well. A bit disappointed about it, I feel like he's another character who will be out-shined by other characters in this game once again which kinda sucks but that's the fuckin way she goes. You're right, we're getting off topic lol

Honestly, I would rather him give us the source and GTFO.
