Whiny Kitana and Liu fans? I feel like they'd have just gone back and played them in previous games. I still do that along with the new releases.

I can't say who deserves the spot for sure, but in my opinion Liu Kang was a waste of a roster spot.

The only reason Liu, Kitana and Kung Lao are in is because they are popular. They are pointless in the story. -comin from a Kitana fan.

They were indeed wastes of roster spots, but I think NRS intended them to be in the roster the entire time. NRS to me was afraid to not include them amid fear of backlash from the fans.

Nobody "deserves" a roster spot. If your favorites happen to get in the game, then cool. If not, it sucks, but better luck next time, or go back and enjoy the games they've been in along with the new one.

I guess I'm lucky in that I'm a fan of 95% of the characters in the series and generally play the whole roster in fighting games.

Popularity although it is because of popularity that they'd make better DLC, these two along with Fujin should have replaced these three and then the two Shaolin should have been DLC later on with Kitana taking Tanya's DLC spot.

Yep, pretty much. They were there for cameos sake. Although, knowing what we know now and having played the game, the 4 NPC fights should've been on roster, imo.

I mean yeah with Tanya's vital and irreplaceable role that only she could've filled. People keep mentioning Kitana and Liu Kang specifically like they stole a spot. Absolutely not. Story doesn't dictate who is playable, if it did we would have Kano, Goro, Ferra/Torr etc etc.

So minor npc characters who aren't playable should have been playable...Yet those who are playable with minor roles should have been npcs?

To be fair, there are just as many, if not more "whiny" Rain fans than there are Kitana and Liu Kang fans.

I also think that those two should be in the roster. Why all the work to give Rain a redesign just to make a cameo?

Also, why Tanya does not show any variations? She will have those special moves when released?

Rains has more of a part in the story than someone like Kitana idk why he isn't on the roster. Tanya probably wasn't planned for dlc until near the end of development.

Tanya and Rain are klearly being saved for MK11... now that everyone else is a carbonized revenant.

Tanya had amazing appearances in MKX, I am happy with MKX just the way it is. It's perfect. Liu Kang and Kitana are epik.

And MK11 will obviously be epik as well.

Isn't Rain the one who stole the smulet and gave it to Mileena? If that's true he is already one of the most important characters in the Story.

Yeah I don't understand that mindset either. They all should've been playable and we could've gotten an MK9 sized roster again. 4 more wouldn't have been too much of a hassle, I'm sure.

Kitana does literally nothing in the story (which I hate). Rain has a bigger role than her and I think you actually fight him more than Kitana also.

You fight them both twice. His role is actually very similar to Kitana, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao. They are of comparable rolls with maybe Liu Kang's being a bit more important because of Raiden.

Well that's true fans were upset because Liu and Kitana were killed and wanted them back. Me being a Kitana fan (no pun intended) I was hurt too, but I didn't expect her to come back in MK X, I was happy yeah but wasn't expected her. I expected Rain to be part of the roster and not DLC since he is so popular

The only character that we all know was originally going to make the roster was Baraka and we all know he may very well be DLC.
