do u think they should keep the MKSM fighting engine for MK 7? it's being praised by all of the critics. and the simple part is it's allready in place, they just have to make the modes, characters, and anything else they wantt o have, what do u all think?
That would be a totally bogus move on there part thats like going against everything mk stands for. indeed mksm is a great game no dought but it shouldnt be mistaken for a new Mortal Kombat. It is basicly a remake of mk 2 not a new mk. Get what im sayin

MKSM's engine is great for an action/adventure game, and works perfectly for that game, but would be too limited for a real one on one beat em up.

No way! the fighting system in mksm sucked! for vs. mode anyway for the acual konquest like thing it was good but not 4 vs u can only do like 4 specials be 4 ur all out of energy and that takes 4 ever 2 fill back up, i like the system they had 4 the previous 2 kombats plus in the versus the fighters looked like crap

You mean making the game like Powerstone. In thoery, it would be very cool but as the other posters said, it isn't the MK way. Hopefully in the next action adventure there will be more playable characters in a vs. mode.

They shouldn't keep it "as is." Though, they should deffinately incorperate MANY of SM's mechanics. MKSM has the best mechanics in an MK since UMK, period. Keep it, just adjust it. Make it a bit more linear, more conventional. Tweak the physics juuuust a bit, lol. But SM is the best playing MK in a very, very long time. The SM mechanics have a ton of potential to be a stand alone fighter and I hope someone with-in Midway realizes this. It's exponetially better than D or DA, that's for damn sure.

It was fine for MKSM, but you incorporate that fighting engine into MK7 as its main engine and not that of a mini game, then I won't be buying that game.

NO WAY
It's ok for an adventure game, but it would be terrible for a real fighting game.
The shaolin munks engine is about as messed up as MKD's fighting engine.
If it was used, it should be for a side game.

Definitely....NOT
Like others said, good for adventure, bad for fighting. MKD style kicked ass. it made it alot faster than mkda style. although mkd could also have a few more changes.
