I'm really a big fan of Kabal, but I don't think he will be in the starter roster of MKX.
DLC would be good for him though! What do you think?
His three variations could be:
1) Speed variation, much like the Flash in injustice he's faster and has several speed-based moves and upgrades to his dashing move.
2) Inventions variation where his groundsaw and mask are being used in different ways, also more strange inventions can be used much like the ground saw.
3) Hookswords variation, where he does a lot with his hooksaws and combos.
One of his fatalities should be with his hooksword, and one with his groundsaw, then his third fatality (as everyone has 3 now I think) could be one of his inventions or maybe putting a head-trap on their face much like in Saw the movies. Kabal strikes me as the cruel-trap master for various reasons.
What are your Kabal wishes?

I want Kabal to get at least one of his MK3 fatalities back, as well as that nomad's touch special from MKD where he knocks both himself and his opponent out. Kabal is at his best when he mixes grittiness with comedy.
His "facial scare" fatality could be gory this time around, with the opponents' eyeballs popping out of their sockets, and three possibilities: their hearts burst out of their chests, or they try to run away, but Kabal's already behind them, and they run into his hookswords, or, in homage to Stryker, gives them small grenades that they think are their eyes, they can suddenly see again, and freak out seconds before their heads explode.
For the inflation fatality, we should see the head explode this time around, and Kabal could either blow it up with one of his hookswords, or poke holes with blood coming out of them before Kabal delivers the coup de grace by making the head pop like a balloon.

Why would MK fighters scare their soul out? They fight creatures like Mileena, Reptile, Torr, Goro, BARAKA and others, so why would they be scared by a burned face? That just doesn't make sense. It was fun for MK3, not for this game.

Yeah I had some ideas lol im not gonna get to into it though, just the basic idea.
Variation 1 = Respirator - A zoning based variation using projectiles from his mask.
Variation 2 = Speedster - A rush down variation that takes advantage of his super speed, kind of like Flash from Injustice
Variation 3 = Hook-swordsman - Another rush down variation in which Kabal has his Hookswords out and are his primary means of attack. Unlike speedster which enhances Kabal's speed and is very quick with average damage output, this variation is average speed but deals more damage, so Kabal is sacrificing speed for increased damage output in this variation.
His universal movies will be the ones he has always had, gas blast, nomad dash, ground saw, and his Tornado slam, but it wont be a grab like back in the day, it will be a special like in MK9.

I think we could make an whole topic about the lack of realism in MK's fatalities, so saying a fatality idea doesn't make sense is like saying water is wet. In short, duh.
Anyway, if animalities return, then here's one for Kabal: he turns into the Road Runner, says Beep Beep, and runs offscreen before Wile E Coyote can catch him. Frustrated, Wile E Coyote eats the opponent, instead.
As the word "Animality" appears on the screen, we again hear the Road Runner's Beep Beep, followed by the announcer saying "Animality".
Don't worry about copyrights, the Road Runner also belongs to WB.

Kabal is one of my favorites. If anymore dead characters make it, it should be Kabal. But i want him to be DLC so there is more room for 3D and new.

My thoughts exactly, i'm in love with his speed, because I love quicksilver, flash and all other speed-type characters too.
Kabal is also cool because of his non-canon ending in MK9, also because of his mask and his ground saw.
but I need him to be DLC, he could come back in MK11 with some awesome side-story, but not as goodguy, more like neutral.

Add: Nomad Touch and New specials.
Keep: Flash Speed.
Garbage: Saw Mill and Nomad Blast.
Give him a firefighters oxygen mask, seeing that the respirator connects to his neck (see MK9).

but hes right that just isnt logical. Besidea yes mk as a whole is obviously unrealistic but at the same time its a sense of realism within itLordKotal Wrote:

Speed was never, and has no particular reason to be, Fujin's signature ability though, while it was always Kabal's. With Fujin we might get a proper "flying" character, with one variation dedicated to flight/teleportation, one for various ways of controlling the opponent and/or the battlefield with wind, and a third involving the crossbow.
Kabal is already built to work with the three variations setup. Not including him would be a missed opportunity, in terms of gameplay. I'd like to hope that there is room for him in the roster.
Don't you just love all this talk of "starter rosters" and the "Shouldn't be part of the launch roster but the DLC one"
Aaaah the times we live in now where the full game isn't expected to be the full package anymore and we accept it now so now publishers just get away with it no problem.

Give this man some Dragon points!!
Such bullshit times in the gaming industry at the moment. That new game "Evolve" had pre-order bonus DLC before the game itself was even revealed. Ridiculous.

Well, maybe it really ought to be.
I mean, come on, the dude's a fucking god of wind.

Personally, I like the crossbow, and I think cool things can be done with it, but from what I understand, the team wasn't all that enthusiastic about it even back when they created it, so I'm not sure it'll make a comeback.
And I'm really not sure how an actual flying mechanic could be properly implemented into a 2D fighting game. I suppose they could go the GG route and have him do airdashes and double jumps, but straight-up flying? Nah, man.

They can't include EVERYONE from MK9. And if someone is going to have to sit this one out, I have a feeling it's gonna be the MK3 guys.

I didn't ever choose him and he wasn't fun to watch in high level play but I can't see NRS leaving him out. I think he'll be a base character.

Kabal was never with the Black Dragon as a normal human. He was on Stryker's swat force as a human. Besides, Kabal never aligned himself with the Black Dragon in MK9 as you saw in story-mode.
