Did Hans Lo just confirmed Reptile in MKX accidentally?

First of all, I'm new here. So if I did something wrong please tell me.
In recent interview to the brazilian website TechTudo (here's the link, in portuguese: http://www.techtudo.com.br/noticias/noticia/2014/09/queremos-reescrever-historia-em-mortal-kombat-x-afirma-produtor.html), the senior producer of Netherrealm Studios, Hans Lo, COULD POSSIBLY confirmed that Reptile will be in MKX.
Again, it's a speculation, AND IT'S NOT CONFIRMED, but just like Ed Boon talking about "Sub-Zero A vs Raiden C" with that "If he's in the game" thing, that could mean something.
I translated the part where he said about it:
TechTudo: It wasn't only the story that changed. To this new game, you're introducing the character variation system, which everyone of them presenting 3 variations. What you guys expect from this?
Hans Lo: It's the same thing, we're searching for variety in terms of gameplay. If we just let things as they were, after some time people would start to say: "Oh, there's Scorpion! And there's Sub-Zero, he's just a blue variation of Scorpion. AND THERE'S REPTILE, he's just a green variation of Scorpion."
Why would he speak about people comparing Reptile to Scorpion if he weren't in the game?
What do you guys think? Was that just an example or could it really be a thing?

He's likely referring to them starting off as palette swaps. Back in the day the ninjas were indentified by color. I personally think it was just him using an example of why they felt the need to add more variety to the gameplay.
