I think she'll be just as important, not more or less. She's def. the most exciting, intriguing character revealed thus far, new or returning.

I'd like her and Ferra/Torr to be interesting and deep characters. Hope they don't turn out to be the punching bag henchmen for story mode. Kotal Kahn seems to be somewhat important though.

Of the 4 we've seen, I kind of hope Kotal has a more central theme to the story than D'Vorah. She is my second of the new ones so far though.
I have a feeling she'll be an Ashrah or Tanya type. In for her own well being.

Yep. I fear this will happen for D'Vorah. It happened before if i'm not mistaken. I really like her look. Gameplay looks interesting. But i don't know why, not much will be put on the table to be exploited in a near future for her. Other than the unlimited potential, we as fans will see based on what she looks like and where she comes from. Reminds me of Nitara during MKDA in some way.

Yet, D'Vorah will be the Sheeva of this one. Call me a pessimist, maybe it's just because i don't want it to happen, but don't get your hopes of the ground already. As for her alliance, if she's going to be independent from both parties good or evil, no. She doesn't look the type.

Ditto on the Nitara vibe. I have a feeling she'll be a neutral presence: only involved because her unknown realm is in danger depending on the outcome, or something.

I think she will have an awesome role in my future own-mk story script, Ed Boon just makes a start for me and I finish it in my own head.

Ed Boon did say she and Ferra/Torr were two of his new favorites...so I think it's quite possible that those two (er, three?) will have significant roles.

It also depends if Boon learned from his pathetic mistake of MK2011 storymode.

If we have the same 1 person, 4 fights mechanism in the storymode, then ALL characters are doomed to be boring, canon-folder/punching bags material. IF he changes that and the bad-guys also get to be playable during the story I see many great things happening!

But knowning Boon, I doubt it :(

But considering the LONG period of time this game will cover I can't imagine that we'll be playing as the heroes exclusively. In fact we may even kill a few while playing with a villain.

Anyway, I hope to kill a few more villians from MK9 in the storymode, not in fights but in cutscenes, like why GOro and Kintaro survived even? I love Kintaro but be honest, Boon will never use that character again anyway, so if he had at least killed off those shokans in the storymode it would be better. No way all the bad-guys that survived in 9 are in X, so that makes me wonder why they survived at all..

I think it was just a misstep from the way they handled story mode. Boon said there would be lots of cameos so we'll probably see some of them bite the dust.

As long as Sektor, Ermac, Mileena and some others aren't killed in that cheap way i'm fine with it. Most of all Sheeva and Kintaro, give them a cool deathscene, as i'm tired of hoping for them to be in other games anyway, boon will never use them again, so a honerable cool rememberable deathscene is something they deserve.

I really like what I've seen from our new bug lady...but as others have already pointed out the MK Team has a terrible habit of making new characters one shots. Hopefully that's not the case for our lady here but y'know...
