Is Forden working on this game?
I hope the track they used for the beginning of the Quan Chi trailer is in. That's my favourite piece I've heard so far. It sounds dark and scary but also banging.

*insert Facebook thumb* whatuknowaboutMK? likes this. EDIT: I think THAT piece should definitely be the select screen music.

I really like orchestra, even more so than the guitar power chords they've become used to using.
But NRS has yet to prove they can do it right with the orchestral scores. It all sounded very generic and uninspiring. It needs to be compelling.
Also, a few Guzheng oriented tracks ftw.

Dan Forden is not the guy designing audio for the MK games these days, and hasn't been since Shaolin Monks. Point in fact I don't think he even got a composer credit for MK9.
Seriously. He's not "the sound guy" anymore, and people who don't like the music really need to stop using him as a fucking scapegoat.

^ This.
Dan Forden hasn't been working solo for YEARS.
Mortal Kombat Armageddon out of all games, made that clear as day.

You know what though, I actually prefer the soundtrack from the original MKs (MK1-MK4) over this so called new sound. The sound from those games were very unique, distinctive and MEMORABLE. In the games after those besides maybe MKDA, the music and sound gradually became more and more bland and barely noticeable. Seriously, when I'm watching any of the live streams idk if it's because of all the talking but I don't ever remember being intigued by the background music at ALL. It's absolutely forgettable and very dissappointing. Name one stage in MKX with cool background music. ONE.
I'll wait.

You can hardly hear anything at all in the streams though other than the combatant's yells and cries and that's likely because they have the music turned down and they are talking.

If they want to continue on the orchestra path, they need to bring in James Newton motherfucking Howard. It'll get done right and people will love it. Guaranteed.

Well as others said, he isn't the one doing the new music. I wish he was though, no MK game has touched the epic music that was in MK1,2 and MK3/UMK3.

So far I've really liked the Snow Forest and Jungle background soundtrack.
I noticed the music for the Kove changes on the second round, I like that one. The one that plays in the background during Quan Chi's trailer could be heard a little easier.
Lol, MK9's Desert Theme near the end at minute mark: DUN-DUN-DUN! *bam* dunDUN DUN DUN *bam* dunDUNN DUNN DUNN! Haha, sorry that 20 second bit was a bit overdramatic

From the little that I can hear of it, it's not that interesting but you're right, it is too low to really tell.
I'll reserve my final judgement until I have played the game myself. Even if it still turns out to be mediocre, the gameplay and replayability will more than make up for it.

Lol, alright alright, I'll have to give those another listen. I really hope that the soundtrack can match the greatness that this game already is. This is going to be the fighting game of the DECADE. I know it.
