Why have accessories at all, if it does not expand the character's personality?

How do you know there couldn't be accessories that might expand character's personalities? Who's to say they couldn't have some accessories that reveal more about characters? Are you under the assumption they would all be goofy or something?

In Tekken and KI I've seen various accessories and costume pieces that were very reflective of the character.

It is a juggling act, to achieve this goal of personality expansion. The complicated storytelling already seen within a strict MK fighting game, would cause a lot of headaches for the inclusion of truly meaningful accessories. I admit it would be easier to accomplish this result, if there was an adventure styled game being released prior to MKX to add importance to the character's belongings but that is not the case.

KAF=Kreate A Fatality
KAK=Kreate A Kharacter

Pretty different to me, don't you think?

Would you like for MKX to have a character customization similar to Killer Instinct's?

Like KI???? Anyone care to elaborate?

Anyways nah.... I mean its so not needed.... Plus i dont really wanna see shit like pink scorpion or stupid hats on raiden or such.... Also now thinking about it... A big part of the lore for specific characters is a lot about their appearence. Honestly if they ever did make it so you can just change colors or add odd items onto them ala Virtua Fighter, then its just gonna look stupid.... Other games can get away with it just fine with their characters because even though they have their own classic looks, their identities arent tied to specific colors or visual gimmicks. For example, Scorpion isnt Scorpion if he isnt a yellow ninja with a spear, or Sub-Zero isnt subby if he isnt a blue kori master, or Raiden or Kung Lao just arent right without their iconic hats..... Most fans think Dark Raiden is dumb mainly because its just like someone took his mkda costumes and just changed colors and just seems wrong for Raiden..... My point being once a chars look is so tied with their identity, that if we started seeing green mileenas, pink scorpions, red sub zeros.... Its just not right. I think because of that we wont ever have the option and frankly after thinking about it im really really glad itll probably never happen.

Now i suggest an alternative...... Bring back Kreat A Fighter but get it right!!!!! ..... In mka they did good job imo giving enough options looks wise to make interesting chars. Can make vampires, zombies, other undead, ninjas, tarkatan, zatteran, oni, cyborgs, and more available to make, basically whatever kind of mk char you want..... The part they got wrong is setting the moves. First off, yes catagorize them, but every special move should be available to choose, and instead of making your own fight style or them having created char exflusive styles, just simply pick what chars norm moveset to have....though i can see there being an issue of bullshit combos being made if players had option to make char with norm moveset of choice comboed with all specials of choice..... So maybe it woukdnt be a good idea..... Its not a bad idea, just theres a high potential for created chars being broken and ruining the game some.... I mean think about if you could do that in mk9.... Created char with cyraxs bombs, net or spear or ice ball something like that, plus kung laos teleport, reptiles dash, and idk like liu kangs norm move set..... That char would be broken as all hell and ya know most players would do whatever cheap created setups that ppl discover.....

I guess as ive been doing this post ive realized and have come to the conclusion, that at least right now, having customizing options or created fighters altogether just isnt a good idea for MK. It just wouldnt work.... Sure they may do either some time in the future, but itll be a mistake. So no please.

In KI the customization didn't consist of changing colors.... It was more like accessories..

For example with MK...... You can keep scorpion costume the way it is but you can change his head to a flaming skull or give sub zero his MKD primary outfit and make his head the sub zero with the scar...

I don't think it's a good idea for MKX, because NRS is soooo busy trying to get everything else done before April, i mean we only know half the features, not to mention all that 'perpetual kombat online' crap that about half of us will even get to use. To this day i still have no idea what 'King of the Hill' mode is about (other than an achievement i'll never get).

But seriously about customisation, i think there'll be enough content without trying to jam something else in that's sort-of been done before by others, when NRS is focused on introducing the completely new.

It's a given it won't be in MKX.

But for future games it's something to think about.

All king of the hill mode is is a up to 8 player lobby that players just fight each other singles only. Winner stays, loser goes to end of line. Players can rate ur victories 0-10 if they want. They present it like a theatre with ppls avatar that you can do taunts with too. All in all its nothing original and ur not missing out reallt not playing it. I only do koth mode online if there is hardly any one playing at 4am lol. Besides then, its dumb.... Its nice option to have i guess but not needed..... Now the bigger issue.... You dont or cant play online at all? Huh? Why not? Ur missing out then for sure..... And i would guess that like 90% ppl that play(ed) mk have/had internet..... Most gamers in general do weither they play online a lot or not. Thats why devs dont really care about the minority that dont have internet.

While we are talking about KOTH, I have not tried it yet because I thought the addition of spectators would make for more frequent disconnections. Are normal online matches more likely to encounter disconnections than KOTH matches?
