I don't know if it's been said, or if other people felt the same way. But it would be interesting for me to know right now if others see it or don't. Scorpion's costume design gives me a heavily Assassin's Creed influence. The Altair character. It's like they removed the "peak" on the hood for obvious reasons, but the stitching is a bit the same if you can find the portrait of Scorpion facing you.
And then there's the portrait side pose which the spear is almost treated as Assassin Creed's hidden blade. The leather and the buckling. Scorpion's suit kinda gives me that feeling like it belongs in that era too.

Now, as you noticed, we haven't heard anything new about MKX yet. My original thought is because how tight Warner Bros and Sony is, proven by past Warner Bros. games, I strongly believe that we won't see jack until around Sony's Conference. Now, this could still happen, but a new theory kicked in just recently.

In less than 15 minutes, the Ubisoft Press Conference will be starting. Assassin's Creed is developed by Ubisoft. I'm thinking Altair will be revealed then. After all, Ed Boon did say "new characters" will be shown in e3.
I know I know, that doesn't make sense, that's so asinine, and plus an Assassin's Creed character is in Soul Calibur V. But let's just remember the fact that Freddy Krueger and Kratos made it into a MK game, at this point anything could happen. I can't wait to "flip my shit".

Hi.

I hope not.

I'm just thinking we'll get a very brief glimpse of the game in Sony's conference and will see more info in the next few days.

I'll be pissed if a damn guest character is announced before anyone else for MKX. That'll definitely show where NRS' priorities are and be EXTREMELY disappointing.

I'll bitch to the heavens.

*Points to Kobra's ending in Armageddon*

Bitching to the heavens is a no no.

Seriously, especially if it's an Assassins Creed character; I really don't like that series.

Yeah, I'm thinking it will be similar to MK9's reveal. Teaser trailer first, then a short gameplay trailer with 4 playable characters (or was it 6, can't remember), and then they'll talk more about the characters and the system a bit and that will be it. Then we wait for August for new information. That's my guess.

If there is indeed a guest character, he'll probably be one of the last characters to be revealed (or at least somwhere mid way). It would be weird that they would promote their own game with a character they don't even own. But hey, stranger things have happened.

Scorpion's design definitely does share some similarities to the Assassin design, but that makes sense because he IS an assassin. Or he WAS, anyway, before he died and became Scorpion. I would say it's more for practicality.

I think it would really suck to get a guest character revealed before the majority of the actual MK characters though. We ONLY have Scorpion and Sub-Zero so far, no story details, and not even a glimpse of gameplay. I don't really want a guest character, but one of the AC assassins would definitely be a huge step up from Kratos or Freddy in my opinion. But I hope I have a ways to go before I have to cringe at guest characters being in MK.

"Hey guys! Let's announce a character we don't own before we announce actual MK characters. Let's also give them a bullshit bio and ending that justifies them being in MK but barely disguises the fact their only in the game because they're a cheap gimmick! Fans don't like it? Tough shit, they'll buy the game anyway"

I could see them realistically saying that lmao.

My Ubisoft Theory was a no go. There's still the Sony Theory, which I am very certain we will get something in the mean time.

But I dunno...what would be wise...announcing the guest character now and get the complaining done and over with early on, or announce it late like usual?

I really can't say which...in one hand, the pain comes, and gets healed as time goes on. In the other, happy happy happy hapARGHWTF GUEST CHARACTER?! Guh i dunno about mkex anymaor.

lol

It's best to hold guest news for later. I think announcing a guest so early would kill any hype I'm currently having and over shadow other mk characters, especially the new ones.

I think a large majority of fans want to see people from the MK universe first before seeing or even speculating about a guest character.

Now, do people still have doubt about how tight WB and Sony are?
