Confirmed: we are getting another MK4+ character, possibly more

We are getting at least 1 more playable MK4-MKA character
More than 2 MK4 characters have been confirmed
Havik, Tremor, Sareena, Kai, Tanya, Reiko, Fujin, Shinnok stock just went up

I posted this in the 3D thread, but a lot of people don't read every page, so it'll get lost. I figured more people would see it if it had its own thread. If this belongs in the Twitter thread, then I guess one of the admins should move this.

Edit: Another tweet with more info. The tweet he answered this time is more vague and doesn't specify characters that *debuted* in MK4, so Shaun wouldn't be wrong if he meant Raiden, Sub-Zero, etc., are MK4 characters that have already been confirmed. Plus, he said they've "already" been confirmed, which supports the argument that he's being cheeky. Take it as you please, but I wouldn't get too hopeful.

Wondered why I'd not seen you post this; saw your tweet earlier and I was starting to think there was someone on Twitter using your handle.

Who do you think it could be?

Someone else asked him if Sareena could be in and he said "Maybe"; I'm not sure she'd be the one though, surely it would be a more popular character.

My safe bet: Kenshi.

Outside the box bet: Daegon.

This might be a dumb question, but does MK4 count as the 3D-Era? I've always just thought of MK5-MKA as a grouping, and MK4 was by itself.

There's my list.

I still think when it's all said and done, we'll end up with at least two of the 3D era excluding Quan and Kenshi.

Three would be reasonable...I guess. confused

If I had to pick one 3D era character other then Quan Chi to appear in MKX, I would pick Kenshi simply because he is one of the more popular ones and Ed Boon did tweet a picture from a motion capture session.

Great info.

I think Reiko has a great chance of being in the game, considering he is a big part of the story. I think he would be awesome gameplay and look-wise. Hoping for Reiko and his Robin make-up/tattoo in MKX graphics!

I'm leaning towards Shinnok as if you've been following the comics, there's a new character likely to be Kenshi's successor. There's also Ermac so three Psychic types(two being part Steel) is redundant.

I'm still hoping for Fujin, even though his inclusion is getting unlikelier by the minute. If I had to choose between Fujin and Shinnok, I'd pick Fujin in a heartbeat.

Well from a story-telling perspective, Raiden needs heroes other than Sonya and Johnny on his side for the Netherrealm War and Shinnok and Quan need allies unless they're only going to use the revenants. Considering most of the new 'good guys' would still be kids/teens at that point, that leaves a few empty spaces for 3D characters to take over.

I waited 5 years after MK9.

Told myself, they were holding on to the 3D era characters to really do them justice in the next game.

Was reassured that Tanya, Fujin and Bo Rai just narrowly missed the DLC cut in 9...

Was teased endlessly about this being the next chapter...

And it seems we'll end up with just Kenshi who was already in 9...

Seriously, is this thread meant to ignite some excitement? "Hey, post-trilogy fans, just GUESS what we got lined up for you..."

Seriously, until it's confirmed it's another character besides Kenshi I'm totally MEH on this. Lord GJ, this is not news either way and totally did not deserve a new thread. Sorry bro. Thanks for making an effort though!!

Probably not. I'll start grouping them as post-trilogy or MK4-MKA if it's more accurate.

He just said there are MORE than 2 MK4 characters comming. So in adition to Quan Chi, we should be getting a minimum of 2 other MK4 characters. Now Shinnokh, Fujin, Reiko and Tanya fans... FIGHT!!!

Do they even count Shinnok and Quan Chi as from MK4? They debuted in mythologies, prior to MK4. That'd be like counting Scorpion just because he was present in MK4.

He probably didn't think into it that much though.
