I realize this is probably nitpicking to most people, but I know its going to drive me nuts. I just don't like the way it looks. Happens to both scorpion and sub-zero when they talk or lower their jaw in animations such as x-rays. Maybe it's just me but I find that it's a poor/distracting design decision. I normally wouldn't post something so trivial, but damn does this annoy me.

I think he means like the character's chin clips through the mask when they talk.

Such as how back in Mortal Kombat 2011, some of the flying loin cloth on characters would clip through the legs of some characters, most noticeable is Sindel's winning pose when she twirls in the air. Her loin cloth just clips right through her.

If this is the case, then yeah, I can see how that can become annoying to see. I'm sure they'll fix it if it's that big of a problem towards them. If it's just that the mask was designed too short, then eh... ignore everything I just wrote. tongue

Yeah but I don't think it's clipping. It's happening intentionally, and as seen above, some people will actually like it. It does illustrate attention to detail, but in my opinion, takes a high tech looking mask and turns it into something you'd buy at Wal-Mart.

I'm in agreement with most of the others here that I actually like this little detail. It makes it feel more real, like there's an actual dude under the mask.

Well it shows that in these designs the masks aren't attached to the material covering the chin, and I always pictured the masks in MK being attached, not open on the bottom.

Don't care. You're not going to see it during the fighting gameplay.

It's better than the whole mask moving when they talk, which would happen if the chin stayed in it

I'd prefer that. Guess this thread just shows how everyone has different tastes.

Its more realistic and took effort to make it that way. It shows how much detail is going into this game. It would be way easier to not animate their jaws like that.

I second this, all I could think while seeing his chin pop from under his mask while he talked was that it looked like a cheap paper made mask.
