Tanya should be dlc. Ed said he would put her in before havik and she was already almost dlc :p also I really don't understand why he has given like zip about her. He could of at least de confirmed Her like nitara or something.

I find it odd that no matter how many questions he gets about these characters he won't reply about them, like he rarely if ever mentions Fujin, Tanya or Havik in tweets. They still might have a chance.

Baraka - I believe Baraka will play a similar role as he did in the original timeline. After Shao Kahn's defeat, Baraka fled with his Tarkata to the Wastelands. Most likely he will be mentioned but I don't think he will make an appearance for MKX.

Kabal - With his connections to other characters, Kabal would make an interesting wild card type character. The Black Dragon and Red Dragon clans are present in MKX so Kabal has potential for story material. Kabal also fought on the same side as Sonya and Jax of the special forces. I feel that Kabal's chances of being included in a cut scene, but as a DLC his bio can tie into the events that are taking place in the game.

Sindel - In the story trailer we do catch a glimpse as a revenant of Quan Chi, her appearance is the same as the previous game so I feel that we are only going to see her in a cinematic and nothing more.

Nighwolf - Nightwolf as promising of a character he is, I don't think he will be playable in this game. I fear that he will only be present in the background of a cut scene as a revenant and nothing more.

Stryker - I think that Stryker will get the same treatment as Nightwolf in this game. As a character standing in the background during a cut scene.

Smoke - Smoke was very popular in the last game and he finally received development with his own original moves and look. I feel that Smoke isn't going to be initially included in the game as a part of the story. His popularity makes him marketable as a DLC, I'm sure that if you saw Smoke as an add-on from your consoles market place you will buy the rights to play as the character.

Sektor - I feel that Sektor will make an appearance in this game but not as a playable character. The story trailer shows Sub-Zero in authority over the Lin Kuei, I think Sektor will be shown in a flashback sequence on how Sub-Zero defeated him for the position of Grand Master.

Cyrax - Cyrax was a very popular character as well, I am starting to wonder if fans like him better as a human or as a cyborg? I don't think the story is going to touch on what happened to Cyrax so there's the probability that he won't be included from the initial purchase of the game. Cyrax would make a great add-on as DLC.

Rain - If you have been reading the comics, you saw what happened to Rain. However, he does appear in his Armageddon attire in the story trailer as he drop kicked Kotal Kahn off a building. Rain is affiliated with Mileena who has a dominant presence in the trailer. I think Rain may be in the game but as a hidden character.

Noob - I am very interested in what role Noob Saibot might have in MKX. Noob is affiliated with the Brotherhood of Shadow and has always appeared when that faction was present. Noob has been a hidden character in a number of Mortal Kombat games and I believe he will play that role out in this game. My guess is that he will be an unlockable character involving certain requirements to be met when playing the online mode as a member of the Brotherhood. Perhaps he will be available once you fully advance up the ranks of the Brotherhood?

Reiko - I feel that Reiko is going to be in this game. If you have been reading the comics Reiko is receiving a lot of development as Mileena's advisor and lover. I don't believe they will have him appear in multiple issues if he wasn't going to be a part of the story in the game. Ed Boon himself mentioned that the story would focus on the rise and fall of Kotal Kahn. Reiko is a character that is tied into that specific arc with his involvement with Mileena. I think Reiko is in.

Tanya - Looking at the demographics of the roster, it appears that we are in short supply of a villainess. Tanya has had affiliations with Quan Chi and Shinnok in the original timeline, but the altering of events makes her involvement in the story difficult. Sindel was never liberated from Shao Kahn, and we never saw Edenia break free from the merger with Outworld. This altering of the timeline won't allow Tanya to open a portal for Shinnok's forces to invade Edenia, Tanya may be lurking out there in MKX but her role is anyone's guess at this point. The Kamidogu daggers might prove as evidence that Edenia exists in this timeline so there is a chance that Tanya could be in. I feel that if Tanya is going to be included in this game, she would be available from the start.

Fujin - Fujin has appeared in the comics and has shown disapproval of Raiden's actions. Fans want to see Fujin in this game and have voiced their opinion very loudly I feel about it. I have a strong feeling Fujin is going to be shown in the story but as a playable character, I am unsure but very hopeful that he is in and not as DLC.

Shinnok - It's pretty safe to assume that Shinnok is in this game. The trailer featured Shinnok in a completely original outfit with a significant amount of detail. Shinnok was hinted as the next main villain of the last game. He's in for sure.

Bo Rai Cho - I feel like he will be in the storyline but not as a playable character. I feel like the next generation of warriors such as Cassie Cage are going to run into him in Outworld and he will send them on the right path to their purpose. Bo Rai Cho I think is going to play a humorous sage role and be present in a lot of cut scenes.

Lei mei - I have a feeling Li Mei will be in this game but also as a supporting character that sets the young warriors on their path. I have a feeling Li Mei is going to send the next generation of fighters into Outworld for a good cause only for them to be entangled in the rest of the plot. Li Mei might serve as an advisor via radio to fill the warriors in on details about the locations and characters they meet throughout the story.

Havik - I think that Havik will be in, but he will be re-imagined. In the comics it is hinted that a demon from another realm is possessing warriors from Earth and it involves one of the Kamidogu. This demon has mentioned from his lips the words Chaos. I'm not sure if Havik will be an ethereal entity with no physical form or retain his Deception appearance. I feel that characters with their face torn off will be those that are possessed by Havik. So technically Havik will be in, just not in the way we thought he would be.

Not sure how some people still see Smoke in that picture. If you look closely, it's just Sub-Zero. I'm thinking most people think that Sub's right arm, because it is at a strange angle, looks like Smoke's hair. Or it could just be a random character model just made up for the variation image.



Smoke might be DLC but I don't think he's making the initial roster.

I feel like Kabal has to be at least DLC watching the EVO championships they are so many people that main him I can't imagine him not being available at all

This should've gone in my realistic chances for characters being in, though this would not fit since it's mostly subjective. For example: Baraka is already seen in the story trailer and thus has a role. He's one of the most unique and recognisable classic characters you can get, so he's very probable for DLC

Well, I personally think we're going to get two groups of DLC, with the first four being two classic and two guest and the second group being four fan favorite / fan requested for the more hardcore audience that sticks around after the first month or two after release. Nothing to back that up with, as it's just a hunch.
