The team consists of different people now than what it did when MK4 came out. This is not Midway this is NRS, it is a different era. And giving Reptile a voice all of a sudden when the exact same people decided that he doesn't have one 3 years ago, is like not making Mileena a newborn all of a sudden. They made those choices in MK9 and it's gonna be stupid for them to take em back.

Reptile talked in Shaolin monks and I think it was telling the story of MK2.

Wut? What does the story of MK4 have to do with Reptile being able to talk. What I said was that since the creators from the previous game decided not to make him talk, it only makes sense that he wont start talking in the next game. Coz u know...it's the exact same people writting this?!?! MK4 came out 15 years ago and Mileena grew up together with Kitana in that timeline. In MK9 she didn't. Exactly like Reptile didn't talk. I am perfectly aware of the story. And it doesn't mean that just because he did talk in a game that came out years ago, he will now. Esp after MK9 where he got such a different portrayal. What r u trying to prove with the "nice try" part? You are irrelevant.

1) The same writers who wrote Reptile not talking in MK9 wrote him talking in previous games. Head writer John Vogel has been writer since Deadly Alliance, he's not new.

2) Reptile actually does talk in 9, we just don't hear what he said. He whispers something to Shang in a scene. So he can speak.

I don't recall a scene of Raiden rupturing Reptile's vocal cords. It's not surprising that he doesn't talk, he's always been mysterious and secretive in MK1-3. But now that his master is dead he'll probably want to start having a mind of his own, given he's in the next game.

Reptile clearly talks to Shang Tsung. To say he doesn't talk versus he doesn't have a line spoken in 2011 makes a big difference.

So same story goes for him :'( No baraka in MKX man thats going to suck for the fans.
More realisticly, Mileena's teeth that she borrowed from Baraka makes her not able to speak as well! :'( ermahgerd she would bite her tongue off, so shes definately going to be mute, and you know what that means! :O No baraka & Mileena in MKX.

I know Vogel has been the writer since DA. Exactly my point. In MK4 where Reptile talked he wasn't.
I remember the part where Reptile talked to Shang but if the writers wanted to portray him as a character who is able to speak English and communicate with the rest of the characters they would have shown him do exactly that. I don't get what your point is. What that scene shows is that he is not able to talk besides maybe some weird reptilian language that only the sorcerer was able to understand. If they wanted to portray him otherwise they wouldn't have him growl in his intro and have no actual lines in MK9 besides whispering something is Shang's ear.

Dude seriously, the only thing we all know now is the 6 confirmed kharacters,
and nothing else.

This whole forum is filled with only rumours at this point,
rumours + anything can happen in the MK universe.

We'll have to wait and see untill hes shown in MK X with 3 variations, I bet he will have all his iconic fatalities, and hopefully play more like his UMK 3 counterpart, which was amazingly fluid.

But on a serious note, people thinking Reptile won't return because he couldn't speak during intros. Seriously? My god, this is one of the goofiest theories I've ever read! Reptile in MK9 was just mostly quiet. And even if he couldn't speak anymore, he could just grunt when interacting with someone else in MKX's intros.

I swear, people come up with all sorts of goofy theories when a new MK game is in development. I remember when MK vs DC Universe was in development, that people fearing that "infighting" like MK characters fighting one another, wasn't gonna be possible, because all the screenshots only showed the two sides colliding. Ha ha!

You know that this is what makes the pre-release period fun right? Speculation. I didn't say we KNOW for a fact that he is not in the game, or that even if he is he wont speak. It's all speculation between the fans and that's exactly what's happening here. Don't "dude" me, there aint nothing wrong with speculation. It's what makes it fun whenever an MK is announced.

I would love some really smart-ass dialogue for the fans.
