Yeah out of the offspring characters I think Cassie and Takeda will be the two best fighters (Story wise)

It looks to me like they're trying to spread out the "main hero" influence. The time for having a singular Chosen One has passed, and they're focusing on cooperation and group dynamics instead of focusing on one primary hero. Each member of the team will have a part to play, and they're clearly working to build these guys up as a "unit."

It's all part of bringing the Faction Wars system into the broader narrative of the game.

Holy sexism Batman! Some people just can't seem to accept a female being the champion of Mortal Kombat. Never mind that she's the daughter of the only two survivors of the Outworld invasion, the daughter of Earthrealm's Champion during the Netherrealm War. The combined DNA of two of earth's greatest warriors.

But no, let's throw our hats in with the son of a second-stringer who was dumb enough to get suckered by Shang Tsung for a stinking sword, and the protege of a powerful but ignorant warrior who was also too dumb to see how blatantly he was being manipulated (And apparently still hasn't gotten it through his head that Subbie is innocent) and was unable to see past his pointless rage for the last 23 years. He could easily have been a hero but is constantly turning up as a dumb lackey working for whatever villain is causing trouble. He may be reformed in the comics, but the Blood Demon seemed intent on shaking his screws loose again and from his dialogue in the game, it seems to have worked,

Cassie is an excellent choice as Earthrealm's new Champion. She's as strong as both her parents and embodies the best of both of them.

As for Liu Kang, I REALLY hope he never returns. He was always so dull and bland. Zombie Liu Kang had more personality than his living incarnation. The only time he became slightly more interesting, was also when he became more unbearable and that was in MK9 where he started becoming a bit of a douche. I freaking CHEERED when Raiden barbecued his unhinged ass. I mean seriously, what sort of "Champion" goes batshit when a bunch of people die? It's Mortal Kombat, a tournament he spent much of his life preparing for, where people die all the time. An ordinary person I could understand, but you don't get to be Champion if you can't handle the reality that people die in this tournament.

Now on to Mileena. I too was shocked to see her wearing pants but I like the new look. Showing less skin hasn't hurt her bizarre sex appeal any, but it does help for taking her more seriously.
Where did sexism play a part in any of the previous posts. I knew you were getting carried away when you said Zombie Kang had more personality than regular Liu, but then you were happy when he got killed for showing an aspect to his character in MK9 that was never seen before? People need to learn to appreciate characters who are generally level-headed and who want to do the right thing, they're getting awfully rare in this day and age where walking cliches of "flawed" heroes and edgy protagonists are becoming substitutes for actual characters.

I know Liu's personality was more subtle than most but just because it wasn't shoved down people's throats doesn't mean it wasn't there. Also he went unhinged? He thought Raiden was a little fucking whacked out, and I defend the shit out of Raiden, but that was logical from Kang's point of view. There's a difference between seeing people die and "Holy shit Raiden, a lot of innocent people died while we were away, and it's hard for me to believe that Kahn merging the realms will let the Elder Gods give us what we need to stave off Armageddon."

I agree. And I like that.

That being said...

Takeda and Kung Jin = the new Liu Kang and Kung Lao

I think they will be buddies...oh and Cassie and Jacqui will be a female equivalent to that.

i dont think they are the new kung lao and liu kang, that would be lame and predictable.

plus if anything Cassie and kung lao would have that rivalry, over him and takeda

Just...that hairdo. >.< The shaved part, at least.

I liked "the bob" much much better.

It would be cool if her alt had that hairstyle.

You know, I'm wondering if that's what it actually looks like with her hair down and not in a bun. It would certainly cover the shaved part, or at least I hope.

I know I shouldn't nitpick, but how boring would it be on here if we just accepted every little thing? tongue

Especially in-between reveals/info release. Obviously, this won't hinder my enjoyment of the game, but at this point, trivial things like this are really all I can pick out that I'm not down with, lol.

My huge one would be the treatment of post-Trilogy characters, but there's still time for that to change before I go ranting about it.
