To clarify -

Damage done to the invasion boss is tallied and updated hourly. It factors in all the damage done by players on a faction (even though I still think that particular part is broken - Lin Kuei has been in the bottom for 4 months on faction war yet ALWAYS defeats the invasion boss). The boss is "defeated" once all the tallied damage meets or exceeds the set number on the update intervals. No one player in the game will ever actually defeat the boss. The most that will happen is that you will fight him or her at "Danger" level, but as the health bar is pseudo-infinite during the actual fight, you can never actually reduce the boss's health to zero.
