Yeah I would say so but then that would defeat the purpose. Remember it was said that just bc they're in the comics doesn't mean they will be playable in the game.

But then again its been said that MKX will have the most newest kombatant than any other MK game and yet all we've seen are returning characters.

Boon said most new characters than any MK game to date. So yeah I do expect about 12 new characters, at least 10. You must not remember that due to a shitty memory.

At this point we already have about 10 new characters. The 4 initially revealed plus Takeda, Kung Jin, Erron Black, Ron Tan'Cho, Jacqui Briggs and the archer character we saw on the Living Tower in the new trailer.

And then in another interview he said maybe not more new characters than deception but definitely alot of new characters. Alot is small in boon's world. when there was only like 15 characters left to reveal he kept saying " still alot of characters left" when thats really not alot. Boon says alot of things.

When Boon made a comment about shipping a game this time next year, and with the details of how the living towers and online functionality were going to work, I began to deeply suspect that we are going to get something like an expansion. MKX^2 or UMKX - which will extend the life of the game for awhile longer and give them time to finish the 'rebooted' content from the previous era. Something I don't think they want to make fans wait another 4+ years to see the end of. Something I don't think they'll fit exclusively into this game. It also means they can really cut into fresh territory in MK11.

But I won't be disappointed if that's not the case either. It's just a suspicion. And not at all uncommon for fighting games at all. Most of the bigguns are doing it/have done it. And it's $$$ so why not?
