The ones that don't die, or play a major part, have a decent chance of being cameos in story mode. I don't expect the likes of Jarek, Reiko, and Frost to make the actual roster.

Erron Black and Takeda have a decent shot though. Fujin as well.

Some of them seem a bit ambuguous, Reiko and Fujin specially seem to have taken counselors position to important characters, meaning that their actions should be important for the story, but they don't have revamped costumes so I'm not sure if this means they're in or not.

All have a good chance especially Mileena, she is a given. The only one from the list that I can't see making it, is Jarek. If he did make it, I would be mind fucked.

Agreed. I think the rest will probably fall under Boon's quote of "fun little surprises" or whatever it was he said in mentioning cameos in story mode.

I've been saying from the get go, you can pretty easily eyeball which comic book characters will be in and which won't based on their wardrobe and the amount of detail put into it.

Reiko, Tasia, Jarek, Fujin, Kenshi, Hsu Hao... and even Fox and Jacqui, have all had little to no detail put into their artwork/look. Many of them are wearing outfits from past games (if they were in past games)... or in a few cases (Frost, Fox & Jacqui) are just wearing very basic clothes/sweats.

I'm not even 100% convinced Takeda will be in, but think he stands a more reasonable chance based on his position in the plot. Cassie hasn't developed a full in-game look yet either in the comics at this point, but like her, I think he has the room to grow into one.

On the flip side of that...

I'm 100% convinced Mileena and Erron will be playable based on their artwork alone. Both of them have had a significant amount of detail and time put into their comic book looks, which suggest a significant amount of detail has been put into their development in general. Which more or less screams they'll be playable to me. Erron has detailing on his guns... they wouldn't give him custom guns, unless Netherealm gave them reference of custom guns.

Sonya I believe also stands a reasonable chance based on her unique costuming.

I also think the maskless/scarred Sub-Zero we've seen has a reasonable chance of being an alt costume, and that like MK9, both Bi-Han and Kuai Liang could each be an alt/main costume for the playable Sub-Zero (both appearing in story mode).

But yeah... in my opinion... these people expecting Reiko might betray Mileena and claim power before the end of the comic are deluding themselves. He's fodder. Obvious fodder.

As playable, not really, only a few, the ones that the main storyline revolves around, but maybe we will have some cameos from the comic minor characters.

Reiko and Fujin are shoe-ins IMO. Unless they get killed, which I doubt, they're play a part in MKX. Same with Erron if he doesn't die, I don't think he will. I'm sure in later issues there will be new characters that will being the game, given that only 4 are announced out of 12+ new kombatants.

It's probably best to assume none will be in until they're confirmed. Except for Mileena, there's really no doubt on that.

Definitely Mileena, Sonya, Takeda, and Erron. Jacqui and Fujin have a chance. The others, probably not.

Reiko & Fujin are big possibilities aswell. Fujin probably has a higher one though lol.

I'm just hoping Reiko makes it, think his character has a ton of potential to be a really good bad guy going forward in the series.

People keep saying fujin doesnt have a hugely revamped look but he didnt need one and his outfit has huge differences from his mka and mk4 outfit. He has red ,gold and blue which he never had. Fujin didnt warrant a compkete new look kinda like raiden didnt. I think he will make it in as a wildcard for the roster. Like tanya was a wildcard for mkd.

Anyone with an updated design will most likely make it in. Reptile already confirmed, shown in comic before reveal in another costume. Then look at Sonya, she was in the comic with a new design, maybe her alternate look since her head shows she's wearing a beret in the factions video, most likely her primary look.

I'd say Mileena, Erron Black, Jax are in the game so far from the comics. Maybe Jackui and Takeda have a chance, but I got a strong feeling Jackui will just be a side character only to be seen in story mode. She has nothing special going for her, at least Takeda and/or Fox have something special.

I'm sorry Fujin fans, but you guys are putting down too much hope for this character, someone has to say it. He looks exactly the same in the comics, except for the color detail which is black instead of read on his chest piece. He will most likely not be in.

Exactly my thoughts, I think it's a good indication...Sub and Reptiles new comic book designs turned out to be their other costumes in game...

Then Sonya, Jax and Mileena show up in the book looking different...who do we then get a glimpse at in the newest trailer? Those exact tree.

Fujin has his MKA costume intact, it's just miscolored in a few panels. I'm not too hopeful on him or Reiko to be honest.

You're probably right. But ive gotten flack from people for already deconfirming fujin and im a fan of his.

Well no one ever dies in mortal kombat, so even if they died in the comic they can stil make a return as long as they were created by netherealm studios and not of the artist original character.

I believe that we will get another MK Trilogy, they'll add all of the characters whether or not they're related to the story. This game is going to be huge, and they may add a lot ot characters and arenas to update it. I mean wth would they just update some challenge tower ? They'll make expansions believe me. Especially now they are connecting all of the MK players around the world, we gt experience points and what not. Maybe something like star craft 2 expansions with story updates! Maybe add new factions and whatnot..

I am going to be really surprised if Fujin isn't in tbh.
