I would rather see "Dark Kitana" be the big bad and "Fire God Kang" do battle but we shall see. Nightwolf would be different and could mildly explain all the possible stage animalities. Release your inner animality..

I still say it's Shang Tsung. I don't see any "good" character being potential.

Kung Lao, Nightwolf, and Kabal? As big bad guys? Definitely not. They are hardly even important good guys.


Still think the big bad guy, or at least the biggest threat, maybe not exactly the boss, will be Shinnok, despite Ed saying we'll be surprised.

If it will be any of the "dead" characters, I'd vote Shang or Sindel. 3rd guess would be Lycan Nightwolf. Just for shits and giggles.

Actually I would like some boosted Baraka, I loved the deception concept, where he was bigger (I mean the design if the kharacter).

My dreams aside it will be Liu, the scorched vengefull monk.
Shinnok would make sense, but back in the day Boon said he thinks it was a mistake to make him boss, so my hopes are pretty low for that, but who knows...

Wow, I hadn't thought of that. The MK1 boss returning to be the MKX boss? That would be SO fucking tight. I don't care how, make this happen

Just had a crazy idea. If Boon said its a returning character but also it will be a big surprise, could the last boss be an endurance match? Perhaps a mega endurance against revenants of all the dead characters from MK9 then culminating in a tag team of Quan Chi and demonic form Shinnok?
Just a thought.

I do have a goofy theory how this could work and made a thread about it. But it got merged with this.

Not all of it makes sense, but if it works out like that, it is plausible.

I see Shang Tsung as a regular character at this point. There is nothing new or challenging about beating Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat. His morphing abiities only go so far when you figure out how to beat every other AI fighter in the game. At that Shang Tsung was always a sub boss. Once you beat him in these games you usually have to fight another boss or two. Nothing surprising there.


You want the return of a boss, make him a challenge is all Im saying
