Just me ranting...
That Kung Lao reveal in the Finnish magazine was completely out of left field, and we've barely heard a peep from Boon or NRS about it (save for a few trolling tweets from Boon).
I don't know how much more I can take of this. I have ZERO clue where they are going with this storyline now with Kung Lao introduced, and we've yet to hear about when they'll do a stream of KL and his role in MKX. The dead don't stay dead in MK universe, I get it. But now anyone from MK9 who died can come back into MKX as a playable character too, even the unlikely effin' Sindel or Nightwolf.

It's not all that bad honestly. Maybe Neatherrealm has a very strong and fascinating story about how Kung Lao got brought back to life. We've only got a few months left until everything is unveiled.

The torture is he didn't get a variation trailer on the official day of his reveal. That shit is killing me.

I think they want to reveal the trailer in the stream OR they don't want us to know why Kung Lao is back to life yet.

Kung Lao is popular and well liked though. Nightwolf and Sindel have their fans of course but not to the degree of a Kung Lao type of character. Just because one dead guy is back doesn't mean ALL the dead will return as living playable characters. Hell I'm sure even some of the people that lived through MK9 won't be back. But now anyone from MK9 who died can come back into MKX as a playable character too, even the unlikely effin' Sindel or Nightwolf.

No trailer = they can fuck off.

They're probably trying to figure out how to word Kung’s trailer opening so that it doesn't reveal too much. That or all of his dialogues reveal something they don't want us to know yet.

I think as far as story goes, it will have to do something along the lines with original Kung Lao who defeated Goro centuries ago, his spirit has resurrected present day Kung Lao after MK9 (sometime in the 25 years that have passed), and now serves a new purpose. Ancient Lao's spirit was set free after the great explosion with Nightwolf and Sindel. Sindel basically had all of the souls that Shang Tsung had over the years.
As to why they didn't have a trailer for Kung Lao, well that was expected, magazines need to have exclusive rights for a certain amount of time (at least one week) until the character is revealed elsewhere so no surprise there.
This week I'm quite sure we'll get something though, or at least a clue to when to expect what. The news better start rolling in not only for Kung Lao but other unannounced characters too otherwise I don't know where they are going with this retarded ass marketing scheme. I rather not know about 5 of the characters that won't be revealed but c'mon not half the cast.

Well, since I do NOT care about the lame story in a fighting game, Kung Lao's return is great. One of the well known face that dates back to what could be arguarbly, the best Arcade game that MK have ever produced. MK2.

They can always just show his variations without his opening and soundless...?

Ed Boon does not torture anybody. People torture their own selves.
Personally, I kind of like not knowing what to expect.... specially in Storymode. I cannot imagine what will happen in Storymode, whatsoever. When you take into konsideration all the brand new kharakters and whatnot.....
Once we all get to actually see the game in HD, on the big television screen, though.... it's going to be epik.
I will surely be screaming.. watching all that extreme, unexpected majestik mess unfold! lol

They very well could...but that wouldn't be consistent. All the trailers so far have given us some sort of tidbit.
Then again, we could just have them blabber over top the intros once more, but that was extremely annoying. Especially since they stated right beforehand that they were going to let us hear some dialogues.

I think people are jumping the gun a little bit. Lets wait and see how he survived (or is revived) before we start shitting on NRS for bringing Lao back.
As for torturing us, I don't really see it or feel that way lol just try and have some patience, the game is almost here :)

This is hardly torture. I think many on this forum will remember the days we could only find out information via gaming magazines and not the internet. We aren't owed compelling reveals or mounds of info.
People jumping to conclusions about Kung Lao returning and saying how bad NRS is at weaving a story are making me scratch my head. Last I checked, the rest of the roster hasn't yet been revealed, we have literally 25 years worth of story to be presented to us that we've only been given just little tidbits of info about, and Quan Chi raising the dead at will.
I'm sure KL's return explanation wont be that he managed to snap his own neck back in place before he fell to the ground, and played dead for a while. Maybe wait and see where they go with it before saying how bad it is? Just a thought~

I agree with the idea of us having more revealed characters with only a few to guess at who is coming back when the game comes out. A trailer is a must for all revealed characters. People don't want to see pictures they want to see live action stuff on a trailer. There is my opinion guys.
