Probably not, he's wearing basically what Sonya wears in the comic, but she wears something different in her factions portrait.

Yeah for a while I was dying to see some post-Trilogy folks, but it's looking more and more like THAT was their original plan from the get-go. After it's release, I can already imagine NRS basking in the awe of all the fans who put them on blast for the exclusion of said obscure characters. They love to pull the rug out like that.

If they had done the reverse, and we got, say 4-5 of the post-Trilogy characters instead and saved the resurrected veterans for the actual release of the game, they would of been a bit surprising, yes, but no where near as surprising as saving those obscure characters for release. Especially when a lot of people were expecting them from the get-go.

Something tells me we're being trolled regarding those characters for a reason.

I wish I could believe that but I don't. I feel like we're going to be lucky if we see Shinnok, Kenshi and Bo.

Idk maybe if they sneaked a glimpse of someone that wasn't the characters listed above I'd feel a tad more hopeful.

Well, realistically I don't expect more than three, but four or five would be absolutely fantastic.

And my money is on the first reveal of April.

I'd play a Cage solo game, and will breathe the biggest sigh of relief if he's confirmed tomorrow.

I'd take Johnny over Sonya any day.

Hopefully we will see something more than MK1-2 characters. Also, Reptile is like : Oh my!

Not mad. Cage is up there in my Top 5, and I'm interested to see what they've done with him gameplay-wise, and how he's changed personality/story-wise. That being said, I was hoping for someone else; and now I'm just hoping he'll play considerably different from Cassie.

Goofiness aside, I do wanna underline what you guys said regarding the impact of surprise characters when you pop in the game; and I agree that they're more than likely keeping more than a few less-expected characters hidden away until the release. I mean, just based on their pattern of reveals; they started with a few new characters with an emphasis on Cassie, to underline the "25-year-span" core of the story, and then it was all return characters with not a lot of clout to them. Kung Lao, Kitana, Ermac, Reptile... all fine characters, but they've either not shown up in the comic, or appear to have little stake in the MKX narrative (based on what we've seen, of course). Everything feels like it's been a tease, an allusion to the real meaty stuff (regarding cast and story).

Howeeeveer... you'll have to go out of your way to avoid message boards and the Interwebz in general in the days following the release, if you want that feeling.

Agreed. Standing back and looking at it, the past few reveals have been completely blatant...and it almost seems like it's with a purpose. I mean, who really thought Ermac, Kitana, Reptile, and top tier Lao wouldn't make it? Nah, something's fishy here.

Regarding that "meaty" stuff, and now, with the news of a Story Trailer tomorrow, I have a feeling the juiciest bit is about to come. I guarantee we'll see glimpses of at least one post-Trilogy character. So hyped.

And you ain't kiddin'. Depending on the information being released when the time draws closer, I plan for my "sign-out" date to be April 1st until after the game's release.
