Fujin has to be the most overrated character in the series.

After the stellar wind animation Kitana's got, would it be a waste of potential if NRS don't include Fujin as playable? Definitely! Think of the possibilities- just a basic thought of Fujin having something akin to blending 'Storm Lord' Raiden and enhanced wind animations used for Kitana's fan variation... I want to see what they can do with him.

Ya I think he'll make it in. With it kinda being MK4 story-wise, his fan base, I think it's pretty much a guarantee. I hope he gets a drastic redesign though, they've done a great job with everyone else. I'm really just hoping he's in to see how they design him.

Boon already had mentioned that Kung Lao's variations are gonna be one of the best (or something like it). Just imagine how Fujin's variations are going to be Betting that staff like thing in boot 6, isn't what it seems to be. That could be Fujin's hair, just a little blurred so that we couldn't tell?

Fujin is really only popular among the boards, and we're the MINORITY. Casuals don't even know who the fuck he is, much less want him in the game. Fujin has a metric shit ton of potential in every single aspect, which is a lot more than I can say about many other post MK3 characters.

You say overrated, others will say underused. Which actually, although I've never liked playing as Fujin at any time I'd agree with people who say he is underused.

But he hasn't yet been used to his full potential and taking the variation system into account which he'd benefit from a lot more than say Shang Tsung (rumoured), Reptile (heavily suspected to be in the main roster), Jax (looking likely to return). Take into account all three of those have appeared in a lot more MK games than Fujin- I'd be impressed if someone could give a valid disagreement of why they should return over him. Also remember that part of the MK X story does (and Boon said so himself) focus on the events of MK4 but "not as they happened in the original timeline"- who was a major player in MK4? Fujin.

I don't disagree with his inclusion, but some of you guys put him on a very high pedestal which is not warranted. That's just my opinion though!

You have a valid point in saying he's only been in two games and people do put him on a high pedestal, maybe even too high of one; there was a time Fujin was supposed to replace Raiden (MK4) but Boon & co changed their minds due to Raiden being IIRC a popular character and a draw to the games just as Scorpian & Sub-Zero were/are.

But two games? Jarek, Ashrah, Sareena, Meat, Hsu Hao, even the worse characters got into two games so even not being a big fan of Fujin myself I'd be happy to see him in MK X & used to his full potential even if that's the only appearance he makes for the duration of the new gen games.

I think you could be right; either him or maybe we'll see Fujin and Tanya, maybe even Reiko (although there is a chance we could see Reiko being killed off in the comic).

Didn't Boon later say there was more than just one character returning from MK4 and beyond?
