Goro looks like a beast but for what I've seen it's SO easy to own him by blocking low!!

His main trick is low kick (blocked low) followed by punchwalk (duckable and punishable). If you block high you're in for a handfull of shokan fists as the first low kick will put you into stun mode, but if you block low you remove his main damaging tool. Blocking low also works against the ground pound I think.

He will be a great character for newbies as it looks like very easy to learn how to tear someone apart, but at the end of the day I don't see him being any close to the higher tiers.

One of those noobs (and they totally had no idea how to play the game) managed to win against Tyler's Goro by blocking low all the match with D'Vorah.

I'm sure Goro will have some tools that Tyler wasn't using. I would hope at least.
So no matter what all Shokans are shit to low tier killing their popularity.

That'd be pretty funny, actually.

That might work, unless the person playing Goro knows his own weakness and can play around it :)

hahah! So is winning I assume???

As for Goro's game play, I'm really torn on him. On one side I feel like he looked like Sheeva tier more than anything else. On the other side I think no matter what character that Tyler dude plays they're going to look low tier (unless its Ermac or a character he admits to playing a lot). Like he pretty much just did a select few specials over and over against a bunch of try hard morons pretending to love fighting games. I didn't get a very good feel for his game play at all, but I seem to remember his punch walk getting stuffed by low pokes.

Overall I'm pretty worried about Goro in that although he looks INCREDIBLE and has a shit ton of potential he may have gotten the Sheeva treatment. I would be extremely disappointed with NRS if that was the case. I also realize its far too early to make these kinds of calls but still, I'm a lil worrying fanboy quaking in my Goro onesies. I can't help it.

I didn't see a lot of his stream time tho so if anybody wants to correct me or say the good things they saw PLEASE DO.
I'm a Sheeva fanboy and I'm glad he might be low-tier after all that buildup.

Fuck Goro.

But we won't know for sure until the game comes out. And maybe a week after that.
For now, they made appear only 4 special moves in his command list:
- Shokan Bolt : Back, Forward, Square
- Punch Walk : B,F, Circle
- Stomp : Down, Up
- Fang Spin : D, F, Triangle
(Direction were actually reversed in the image, but I guess it's because Goro was on the right side ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v;=0kAq79yqddU#t=294)

He'll probably have an Overhead among his normal moves, or maybe they'll give him a Low Grab to catch ducking opponent.
If it's the case, I hope the Low Grab will beat the ducking attacks like down punch or low kicks as well.

The ground pound, if it's like Sheeva, will be unblockable, + he can control the landing of his teleport by pressing left or right, so it can be a good thing to break the defenses of the opponent.

I think he will be pretty straight forward with nothing too over-complicated, however since he is slow he'll need timing and precision to hit and keep the advantage.
